Time to go Mark Neeld

Grand New Flag

Recommended Posts

Neeld had my support up until the Gold Coast game. I am so annoyed with his style now he just infuriates me every time I see him.

I have had enough of his pre/post game platitudes and sick of the same spin every week.

I would be absolutely gob smacked if he got this side to be competitive but if he proves me wrong then I will be the first to say sorry.

It is just such a massive gamble for the club to continue with him in 2014. The club including Peter Jackson will look like first class fools if we are getting flogged in the first 5 games in 2014 and then are forced to move on Neeld. Massive gamble!

He has lost me that's for sure.

So, yet another player they could not develop!

Maybe.

I think the kid was drafted at a bad time for the club. Supporters were waiting for a messiah, a hero, an icon.

JW was hung out to dry.

I hope he smashes it against Collingwood on Liz's birthday.

I hope our hero will be Peter Jackson. On field keep an eye on Jesse Hogan for future hero status.

I think that the GCS are showing that they could possibly make the eight this year.

Gamble for 2014? Maybe. Let's see what the remainder of 2013 looks like first.

I feel punch drunk from footy at the moment. On Monday it will be 8 days since our last game. Enough time for the worm of hope to wend its way into my brain. Maybe we will fight and scrap and fight some more. Maybe we will win. Please bring on Tuesday for the more comforting salve of reality to be applied.

Sorry to say the MFC has as much chance of winning on Monday as it has of winning the 2013 Grand Final.

But we can dream.

I take it that means you won't be logging on to Demonland that day? ;-)

Regardless of the dubious quality of coaching we have, our attitude has to be 'we can win' tomorrow - even if those at the top can't provide a winning culture by example, those at the 'coalface' have to take a stand and draw that proverbial 'line in the sand'.

BTW, anyone notice how the 'Malthouse' game plan failed yet again on Friday night - even with a group of players who are good around stoppages, it still didn't work against a team who play more positive football - yes, I agree it was close but.....

Watching MN's presser tonight - the guy cannot be serious with a comment about expensive specialists - does he know the impression he gives with such comments?

He was referring to Clark's medical treatment - I have no idea what he really meant, which is why I raise the issue of his comment.

I simply can't understand how anyone can continue to support Neeld. I have read the pro view..... to me the arguments make no sense.

We were again horribly out coached today. What I hated most was the change in game plan after Dawes went off. We went mega defensive in an attempt to restrict the losing margin (again to no avail), once again playing several players behind the ball. This..... the super flood, played under Neeld gives us no chance of being able to kick a winning score..... yet this was the tactic................. again!!!!!!!

THIS IS NO WAY TO DEVELOP A TEAM.

NO WAY TO BUILD CONFIDENCE!

I am sure you all noted the drop of the head once the coach effectively raised the white flag.

I have had enough of this! I hate going to games that the coach effectively gives up prior to half time. If we are to go down, lets go down fighting playing a game style that has the chance of putting some score board pressure on.

There is no upside to keeping Neeld.

AGREE

Crowds at the last three QB is 75k, 60k and today 50k

Says it all and crowds will continue to decrease but hey why get rid of Neeld.

The Ox is right he needs to go NOW

I think you need to add another dimension to your comments GNF - the weak decisions (or non-decisions) made by the Board mean they must go also.

I hate seeing coaches sacked as it means acknowledging that the club has stuffed up and a lot of wasted cash and more importantly wasted time.

Unfortuantely with MN I think we are past the point of no return. We must move on.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
