Carlton - MCG new tenant?

Frankly i am more worried that the Demons are still forced to play a home game at Etihad. If Carlton come to the "G" they should be offered our Sunday twilight timespot and reprogram us for Friday nights and Saturday games like we used to enjy. After all, we started life as the MCCFC!

Could also be designed to drive a better deal out of Etihad and is good timing as noted by DC above!

There is no room for them at the G unless other clubs move games from there.

I would be happy to see Collingwood and Hawthorn move and be replaced by the Doggies and Kangaroos! That would make for a more equitable competition!

Sad part is CBD that even playing a Sunday twighlight game, Carlton would still get 50,000+ there.

Because most of their members don't have work or school on a Monday morning.

The part that annoyed me was that they listed the 'tenant clubs' in the article in the following order:

Collingwood, Melbourne, Hawthorn and Richmond.

It is our home ground only .... The rest are co-tenants horning in on our awesome MCG.

As far as I know we were there first. Everyone else is a freeloader who should be paying us for the privilege.

We can then sling the MCC a few dollars for their trouble.

It's not 1956 anymore.

BLUES WANT THE G

well lets go,, off to 'Docklands' then....

if they want us off the 'G', we'll show them! We can take over the TelstraDome!

practice near the 'Wheel', & share with the Bulldogs.

Hell, we may even merge with the Roos, while we're down there.

I've got an original Idea!

How about the Blues & Roos merge & hop about the Docklands... they could be the BlueRoos. all they need is a stripe or 2. & replace the whiteant on the jumper with a Roo image.

Geographically close.

They could take shares in one another...

Of course we were there first! We invented the blxxdy game! We were the Melbourne Cricket Club Football Club when we started life as I suspect that most of our first players were also MCC cricketers keeping fit during the winter. Personally, I would be happy to see the Pies go back to Victoria Park, Hawthorn to Glenferrie Oval and Richmond to Punt Road. An alternative would be for Richmond to go to the Kevin Bartlett Oval (which is in the city of Richmond) and let us use their ground as our training ground and home base, after all it is located in the City of Melbourne. Grassroots footy is what we should be encouraging!

The blues want the G?

Well good for them!

So what?

I really don't think it's as easy as all that.

Are some here feeling threatened..?

it's just posturing to get a better deal from Deathlands stadium

nothing to see here

That and to boost their membership. I think I heard that they told their supporters they will play home games to the 'G' if they get 50,000 members. We should get Mitch Clarke to come out and say his foot won't heal unless we get 40,000 members, it would have similar credibility.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
