A positive article from our point of view. If Craig is installing the same work ehtic into the Dempn list as he did with the Crows, then we are destined to show a marked rise with our re-shaped list. I am sure that Misson, Neeld and Craig are all on the same page! In particular, I cannot see us losing a (home) match in Darwin ever again after this training camp!

Great article and just shows how important his choice in joining us is. While we had a crap year, he knows and see's the inside running and what is in place and like what he heard and saw. The reports of his active involvement around training and continued passion means we must be on the right track in his view as well, otherwise he would have left us already.

Raising the standards and professionalism and parting with those that wouldn't or couldn't adapt to the new regime. He has his faults but on professionalism and hard work he ranked with the best.

Totally agree. I believe the work ethic and professionalism they are instilling will hold us in good stead hopefully for many seasons.

"They were definitely a good running group but their strength and power needed a lot of work.

"I needed to strip it right back to basics and build from the bottom up.

"Technique is another one. To me, they are still developing."

It must be hard to build strength & weight at the same time, into such a young group, when they're frames are still growing until they're around 21 Yrs.

To me, you build they're tanks first whilst they're frames are growing & they willstruggle to put on mass anyway up until around 21 or 22.

It seems to me once you've got they're tanks up to elite standard & they're work ethic up, they would be around the age they can put on mass & weight...

So IMO build the tank first, then weight next.

I'm also impressed at how he has apparently changed roles without rancour. Some coaches would really struggle in the role of being still involved in a senior capacity but not actually being the one calling the shots. Mind you, all the current ex-coaches with a similar gig (eg, Eade, Balme, Bailey) seem to be doing it well. Perhaps that's why they are doing what they are doing...and perhaps that's why Mick Malthouse isn't doing that at Collingwood.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
