Thank god for Brendon Fevola

But Burnouts McLean is?

At last this issue is starting to move beyond one club - which it must if the AFL is to have any credibility at all.

If there is one person who has clearly bought the game into disrepute through all this it is Brock McLean. By holding his tongue until now ,Fev. has acted far more responsibly than Brock has. Imagine if every player who left a club was free to air the dirty linen of his former club as Brock has done.

Recall Libba. No wont happen.

It must happen - and we - as Melbourne supporters - must do what we can to make it happen. Libba was a coach. His comments were ignored because he was perceived to have been bitter after his sacking. How can the AFL take that line with him - and the opposite line with Bailey and Prendegast.?

Come on Caro.....prove you haven't got a deep-seated bias against the MFC - and Cameron Schwab in particular. How about interviewing LIbba and Fev?

As for Anderson, Clothier and Co - do your job. Chase down the tanking issue to its source

Fevola said he had not been interviewed by AFL integrity officers

This has to change. The can have no integrity if they don't talk to all potential witnesses to tanking.

Speaking of integrity, it doesn't seem the AFL own invetigation has much integrity. It is leaking like a sieve.

Honesty is the best Policy, but in todays society, it is The Victim. And the honest are hunted down.

The AFL cannot go after Melbourne, as we were Not the originators of this list management & we weren't even amongst the first group of clubs using "List Mamnagementy" tactics, to further they're premiership window possibilities.

Were we Eddie?

"I can't remember" is the best defence. So far, too many associated with our club have good memories. Lets find out what the Carlton boys can recollect.

Again i ask - are you serious? Of course people being interviewed could say i don't remember but they have been warned that they will be heavily sanctioned (including not being able to work in the industry) for misleading testimony. But yes they could try to plead ignorance.

But that is not the point! Based on a television interview with BM the AFL launched what is clearly (and contrary to expectations) a very robust investigation. Surely for consistency they are compelled to at the least formally interview Fevola on the back of his comments and fully investigate the matter.

And by the by if they do it won't be just current Carlton boys they interview. Ex employees will also be interviewed. And thanks to Malthouse they now have a raft of seriously disgruntled ex employees (at least one of which who is threatening legal action) who may well be more than happy to tip a bucket or two

Ps you missed a glorious pun oppotunity... The title should have been "Tank god for Brendon Fevola"

:)

Im going to try edit this or if the admins could I would be grateful. This is comic genius and im furious at myself for not thinking of it.

How come Brendan Fevola gets capital letters and none for God?

Im not touching that

They can't investigate Melbourne after McLean says something, and not investigate Carlton when Fev says something.

I have heard them they they have investigated the Carlton allegations in the past and found nothing.

Well all they did was interview Ratten at the time.

Just as they looked into our situation, after Baileys comments.

Where does it end?

Every time a disgruntled employee opens his mouth there is another investigation.

The whole thing is ludicrous, and would never stand up in any court of law.

I do find it rather amusing that Brock McLean is a 'rat' but some are fine with giving Fev a pass for dobbing in Carlton. If higher ups were openly advocating losing matches for draft picks, while it probably would not cause me to abandon the Dees, it would make make me view the club in an entirely different light. What would make me hang on is that there has been a cleanout to an extent. If what is being said is true, and I know ADC would love it, Schwab and Connolly must go.

He was the first. Seems to be many that have come forward since. Read what I said. They need more witnesses to back up Fevola's allegations. Or else nothing will happen

What about Libba?

Absolutely correct!!

Big test for the AFL - one set of rules for the power clubs - and another set of rules for the weaker clubs?

But were they silly enough to have a meeting with an agenda on the topic?

Do you have evidence that they had an agenda with tanking as an item, or are you relying on that miserable muck raker, Caro's say so???

I know he's had a lot of issues but i've always really loved Fev. He was really what made me get into footy. The first game I ever watched was a Carlton game, when Fevola kicked a goal from the deep pocket to win. I think it was around 2004. Seriously thought about being a Carlton fan purely because of him, but I decided I wanted to follow a team I cared about and loved, not just a team that had a player I liked.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
