Sharrod Wellingham

Just because he wants to go back to WA doesn't mean he will.

End of the day it comes down to who has the rights to his contract and I doubt Collingwood will give it up cheap.

Ok pick 17 seems to have just been tabled by WC according to rumors.

Have barely head a peep from the MFC so far, so much for 'Leaving no stone unturned'

West coast are offering pick 17. Will we think wellingham at pick 13 is paying overs?

Presumably your getting this rumour (pick 17) from the fb page.

The trade period does not start for another week. FFS

It seems he's keen to head back West... Q stick perhaps going to Collingwood, not sure how they will afford him though?

Two articles have suggested there was initially lukewarm interest in him in WA. Word is he is pretty connected to Melbourne (the city) now days.

If WC offer pick 17 Id go with pick 13 in a heartbeat - if they were going to offer it for Caddy then definately worth using it and maybe Pettard for him.

Both of my Brothers know Kennedy's Father. My eldest Brother played at Hawthorn with him. They're p1ssed off at Clarkson to this day. Josh didn't want to leave, but was offered a 1 year contract and told he'd have minimal opportunities. He didn't leave for dollars.

He left for sense.

Meth Coast for years have had a philosophy of not giving away trade picks, they will not give away their first pick for Wellingham!

Agreed, also West Coast do not need another midfield type player.. with players like Gaff, Shuey, Embley, Rosa,Kerr still going, Masten starting to deliver, Priddis and Scott Selwood. There is a very long shot they are going to give away a pick.

That is true, although I'm sure that with the free agent period open I'm sure other discussions can be happening. IIRC Carlton and Melbourne agreed to the McLean trade before the official opening of trade week.

I think that pick 13 is overs for Welligham and I would rather chance our luck in the draft. I actually think that pick 17 is overs as well, but, due to West Coast being on the verge of a flag, they can afford to pay a bit too much for a ready-made top up instead of waiting a couple of years for a kid to come on, a luxury we can afford.

lol your hilarious...

They actually said they would leave no stone unturned in reference to FA...so not sure why you are referring to trade week.

I guess simpletons do get confused easily...though in your defense this thread is about Wellingham who isn't a FA so I will have a whinge about or lack of action so far in FA in a more relevant thread.

Dan Richardson (Byrnes manager) said he is leaving Geelong and it's well documented that Melbourne are very keen so I wouldn't expect any issues for Shannon.

Cant agree with that - he is a worthy pick 13 and unlike a draftee he has proven he has speed, spread and ball smarts. Our luck with drafte choices hasnt been great for mine. He is worth the coin.

I heard that Shannon Byrnes is staying as well but someone else posted on a facebook page that he is definately signing with the dees... Also heard rivers has lodged papers with Brisbane... its all happening and none of it good for us thus far...

Me confused. Has Byrnes manager said:

A - Shannon is staying at Geelong

or

B - Shannon would like to pursue options elsewhere

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
