By all reports, it was champagne with breakfast. Not exactly a stiff drink. That came later, with the cocktail that bears his name.

Churchill:

Ingredients: 2 jiggers of chilled gin, 1 unopened bottle of vermouth.

Instructions: Pour gin into a martini glass. Wave bottle of vermouth over. Drink.

Sometimes life gets in the way of what's important and you just have to pay attention to the mundane stuff. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. You've got to admit though, there is a lot to get excited about at the moment. At this time of the year everything is just coming up roses. What can possibly go wrong? We are re-shaping our list and soon enough we'll start re-shaping bodies and attitudes during pre-season.

Good work Crawf. I was interested in McLardy's statement. Some people like to say that actions are more important than words but good leaders know that their words are important.

The most important part of McLardy's statement was where he pointed out that despite the calamity of losing a sponsor on the eve of the season, MFC will still make a small operating profit. It doesn't make many headlines but in the recent history of the MFC, this is a hugely significant achievement.

With financial stability, the focus is now on football, as it should be.

- I am just ecstatic that the post season has well and truly arrived and the Dees are playing hard ball trying to fill the gaps in our list and make use of the massive investment into the scouting and trading section of the football department. I sincerely believe that they, along with our coaching and support staff, will make some big inroads into 'fixing' our list this off-season.
