Three Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 9.11.65 to Sandringham 7.12.54

I noticed Lucas Cook had 6-7 touches in the first quarter. How is he playing today? Is he clunking a few grabs?

Earlier this year Beau Wilkes kicked three goals and was probably the difference for St. Kilda v Melbourne.

He's repeating the dose today for Sandy against Casey.

Scorps lead by a point but they're under pressure.

Farren Ray -can he kick it 50?

No-what a game.

... and Ray's shot misses. A 4 point win is just another day at the office for Casey.

Leehow - they did have issues early with calling Couch but he didnt help by not gettting much of it.

He had 6 disposal in total - one of which was his last kick. I doubt they only called one of his touches.

what im saying is i think he had more than that. i heard donegan and booth 3-4 times call collins' name when couch got the ball out of a pack

I thought Gysberts and Martin showed AFL quality today. Gysberts in particular could add something to the midfield rotation.

Youngsters in Davis, Sheahan, Cook, Tynan, Williams all pretty far off AFL level.

Spencer was beaten in the ruck, especially in the around-the-groun throw-ins. i'd be seriously scared if we had to rely on him at AFL level.

Petterd and Bennell showed glimpses of class, but it just hasn't clicked with those 2. May not have a future at the club if they don't lift to another level.

Petterd almost lost that game for Casey with an extremely undisciplined piece of play two minutes from the end 20 metres out.

Gave away a free kick when Martin had knocked the ball to ground.

P--s poor effort Ricky

Honestly, looking at that game there weren't many who would warrant a call-up. Martin was really good, especially in the wet, and Gys did some good work in the tight spaces. Aside from that I can't see anyone knocking on the door.

What about his short passes sylvinator!!!

Good to see Strauss get through a full game... he does something well that a lot of melbourne players don't, provides a shepherd.

Casey dominated play in the third and last quater. Forward line seemed completely lost. Poor disposal into it as well.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
