The way hes playing he did us a favour.

True RF, but the problem is, he would still probably run rings around most of our players the way we are performing at the moment.

But do we need another player that skirts the pack and waits for his team mates to get the ball to him?

Give me Jack Viney, he will get his own ball and crush Scully on the way through.

Can't argue with that... I'm just dreading the thought of seeing him have a blinder against us later this year.

Scully looks to have made the right choice for him. I take solace from the fact that GWS head hunted the wrong man!

Sadly, it gets back to the administration again.

The Scully drama should never have been allowed to drag on like it did. A simple and reasonable time line needed to be set by MFC for him to commit for 2012 and beyond. It's not really that complicated. The same could go for the likes of Moloney now. Make him an offer soon if we wish to keep him. If he hasn't agreed by, say, Round 18 then it's no more games for him.

We could do with Tom Scully on our list for the next 15 years. This is fact. We should be ashamed he felt it necessary to leave and we must get ourselves into a position that no player ever wants to leave us again...

Posted

Yep, surely cannot blame him for his decision now. Perhaps the way he went about it, but he took a significant pay rise to play for a club that is showing a lot more promise than us at the moment.

Scully never bought in to the club or its history. The rumour was that he wasnt impressed with our lack of professionalism and training effort. its sad that we have in some ways proven his concerns right.

The whole scenario was a joke that made him look like a mercenary. But this is old territory.

Who cares. Is he about to win a premiership and when they are strong, will he get a game?

That's true - but WYL and I are still [censored] at him!!

Like it or not, he is a loss.

He has flaws in his football but he is the sort of player that we need.

Unfortunately Scully personality isn't the usual footballer.

Gary Lyon said None of the MFC people really know Tom and in GWS, non of them really know Tom. He's a bit of a loner. That's his personality.

He sees football as a job and works hard at it for the right price. MFC Recruiters must look deeper.

Good on the guy for setting himself up for life and I don't begrudge him any success with the GWS but we certainly benefited from his departure in terms of $$$ and recruiting options.

HIs loner mentality probably explains why he never fixed up his kicking

I believe Sheedy said he just doesn't interact with the other players and that they thought we just hadn't handled him well, leading them to believe they could round him off and get the great footballer they required; guess what I don't think they do now.

Don't let this distract you from the cavalcade of abuse he richly deserves in Round 13.

Will always be a stain on the MFC's history.

He did nothing Mitch Clark didn't do.

Did Mitch Clarke state a desire to stay at Brisbane whilst his dad held a job offer in the top draw to become Melbournes newest recruiter? I can't remember any of that, remind me?

Clark did state a desire to remain in Brisbane right up until he had to sign on the dotted line.

Don't kid yourself. Tom Scully is no different to Mitch Clark. Players come and go. Money talks.

This is the only thing I'm looking forward to for the rest of the season. It may be disgraceful, unbecoming, and hopefully the TV cameras are pointed to another section of fans, but he is going to bear the brunt of a season of frustration from yours truly. Let's not hate ourselves enough that we would bend over and give any credit to that weasel.

Is anyone watching how he has gone? I rarely see any write-ups on his game performance, saw he was getting a few good stats recently but not really getting in best. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has watched the Greater Western Boys...

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
