Jose can people make a comment without you trying to be authoritarian "My view is it and thats the end of it" everyone has different opinions.

Letting Junior and Brad Miller go was a mistake. Junior for his on and off field leadership and Miller for his professionalism on the training track. Big deficincies were missing, whilst we have been well compensated for Scully moving on he was absolutley right if he left due to a lack of professionalism in the playing group, it is very clear now. Whatever people say about him he knows how to train and put the effort in and it's contagous

I accept Neeld and Misson are trying to change this and it will take time, but those two (Miller & Junior) would have assisted in getting the message across to the playing group. At the worst we could have got another season at least out of them and kept one on as an assistant.

Well put, PSD. Letting Junior go was such an obvious mistake it probably shouldn't need discussion (JM excepted). Miller I'm not so sure about but, with the benefit of hindsight, it's unlikely that his staying would have done too much harm - and Pia would only ever be an asset.

We lost to Geelong last year, by 186 points.

Half the problem here, we need to be judging the team by their losses, not by the odd win. Those wins were one-offs, not typical of our season. Or the one before.

We are playing well below our optimal at present and our supporters are justifiably upset. Nobody thought we were capable of winning the flag this year or anything like that, but we were all hoping for improvement and not expecting to go back to rock bottom. The argument that we have to go backwards to go forwards is rubbish.

Our list is still ordinary but our performances have been insipid. IMO it is the coaches primary role to get us playing at our best. Neeld has not even got close at the moment.

Its pretty clear to me. Last year happened off the back of listless senior players and no leadership. Yesterday happened off the back of listless senior players and no leadership. Yesterday for me affirmed the correctness in Neeld removing Moloney, Green and Davey from the leadership group and dramatically instilling kids that are granted not ready but will grow into the position. Yesterday was a perfect day for the three of them and Sylvia to lead by their actions but they were pitiful as always.

The only way to fix this is to cut the cancer out and send Moloney, Sylvia, Davey and Green to Casey and play less talented players who will give their all and play their role.

The quicker this is done the better.

Adelaide won 6 games in 2011, in 2012 they have won 7 from 8 with the same playing group.

There is a massive difference between the problems facing Adelaide and Melbourne last year.

Adelaide were a super well drilled side that worked very well defensively and had a strong culture of team ethic. This was because Neil Craig was a heavily structured and highly disciplined coach, and this was reflected in his players. They weren't called the 'Crowbots' for nothing. Sanderson has now freed them up, but they've always got the defensive and team culture and ethic at its base.

Melbourne had the attack, but didn't have the defensive culture and ethic. So there's no base to build on. Neeld has had to strip away everything to change the players' mindset. That's bloody hard to do.

It's easy to teach players to attack more when they already have a sound base. But teaching a freewheeling, carefree team how to defend and be selfless ...... that is hard. We are seeing the result.

Yes and it also brought us 40+ point losses to Haw, WCE, NM, Carl, Coll, WB, Haw, Carl, and WCE. Some of those were pushing into the 80 point mark.

And let's not forget in the middle of that was the trip down to Mordor where a team scored 233 points against us.

Adelaide's senior players are far, far better than ours.

So much better that I feel somewhat sheepish even comparing Vince, Reilly, Thompson, Van Berlo, Doughty, Knights, and Douglas to our 'senior' players...

There were a LOT of insipid performances last year, and normal service has been continued this year - though with a few additional absentees, that probably aren't helping.

Maybe read the Tahdg Kennelly article if you haven't already. Nothing to do with the coach if the players aren't prepared to do the hard work.

It is the coaches role to give us the best opportunity to win a premiership.
