Did they chip in anywhere near the $5 million that the MFC supporters did to clear the debt? Cut the crap the culture is proactively set from within the club not from the supporters who are reactive to what occurs in the club.

Nobody at all gives MFC supporters any credit whatsoeverfor digging deep & clearing debt demolition. Not even our own!! Astounding.

Meanwhile the MFC sit in 17th spot under the Gold Coast.

The message is....Don't Tank, it is not worth it.

Tell Carlton and Hawthorn that.

Agree. There were so many posters that were lauding the current administration for doing that. I know you would not have been one of them. It was the club members and supporters.

And also people forget the impact and effort of doing that in our rebuild process whenever they compare us to Carlton and say we were only 2 years behind them in development. People forget and you are one of them that in 2007 we were so far behind the 8 ball in nearly all facets, our rebuild was never going to be easy or short path. And thats the way its turning out

That is such stupid thing to say WYL. I usually don't mind what you contribute but this is thoughtless tripe.

Tell that to Malthouse.

I agree with your comment on supporters generousity but the fine efforts of that group are not reflected in the performance of off and on field matters at MFC.

And how was that debt created in the first place? Who are you going to blame for that?

We simply paid off what WE created. Think you will also find the AFL & MCG made a massive contribution to our survival.

Sadly Mick is pointing out what many just cant see - but I fear the message will be lost around here.

Typical "childish" response around here - attack the man ignore the message. Some just wont listen.

When do Melbourne supporters get any credit for debt demolition? We are still fair weather snow skiers to the outside world.

Rhino why do you say this stuff.? You have no idea how many $$$ i tipped in during 2008-9.

Whether you agree with Mick or not something is not right at the club and hasn't been for some time. By the look of things (the results) we have a lot more to be sorted out yet. Let's get on with it asap, I just hope the results don't devalue Neeld's power to bring about the necessary changes, at least to the football side of things.

I'm sure we all tipped in - but we did it to save the MFC.

We need to move forward NOW - & stop looking back. AFL football 2012 is not going to stop and throw us a party - because thats what you seem to want.

Not lost on me! Especially not the bit about Neeld starting from scratch.

No i don't want a party at all far from it. I want the $$$ well spent.

Did i ask your opinion by the way? All your posts are the same anyway. Well as Dr. Who that is.

The $$$$ where used to pay off what WE created - OUR Debt. Yeah the message doesn't get thru to some - sadly you have to say time after time. Many still dont get it - but such is life.

I've just watched this game and noticed the physicality of the game plan.....EVERY player lives for contact and if they don't go hard enough, they're stared down by their teammates.

The Dees have to dispel their bruise free footy tag and wake up.

We might not win any games this year, but please enjoy the contest and COMPETE.

I reminisced for a moment that I was watching the Dees under Northey....tough, uncompromising, no quarter asked, none given.

For all of you who say the game's moved on, no, not really. The need to compete is still there.

The game has moved on, maybe you haven't. Speed is the new evolution. We must have the slowest in the comp.

Yes i know all about the debt thankyou Dr.

I was also aware of the interst payments and how quickly they were growing.

So why do you continuously seem to want recognition for a situation that we got ourselves into ?

But if it makes you feel any better - Congratulations to all MFC supporters that paid off the debt that they created. Does that make you feel better?

excuse me? What tablets are you on? Must you harrass each person on here.

I made a passing comment about how MFC supporters are still percieved by the outside AFL community.

And no it was not my debt. But i pitched in because i did not wish the club to die. But it was never my debt.

Maybe - but so is one-on-one, tackling, competing, contesting.

And, no, you're right, I haven't moved on. I want the toughest team in the comp, not players who avoid the physicality.

Oh Yes it certainly was your DEBT - we caused it - nobody else. Thats the "root" of the problem around here.

MFC "supporters" want a pat on the back for "fixing" the problem - but they wont recognise who caused the problem.

the tablets comment - WTF.

Must you harass my football club - if you talk rubbish about them I have the right to defend them - its a MFC public footy forum if you haven't noticed. But I'm starting to doubt that you have noticed where you are.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
