Demons Raid angers Magpies

A great business man. not quite sure that is true anymore. GTV 9 are still trying to recover from his sackings, particulary the news dept. I'm still trying to recover from lkg at Tracy Curo's cleavage. Sorry but it's like Lkg at your grandma's cleavage. Mc Chins thought that GTV 9 needed to go down the King St style of ratings. A BIG flop as a corporate CEO and left without the publicity it deserved.

.

Sorry, but I think you've obviously been mesmerised by the sight - don't you mean Grimshaw ?

Anyone who has read "Who Killed Channel Nine?" by Gerald Stone would know just how unsuccessful Eddie was as CEO, that isn't really the issue. My issue is with Ed and Collingwood in the last few months jumping up and down about being raided, as if it's never happened before (Malthouse). They wanted the AFL to have a new rule so poaching coaches wouldn't occur during the finals after losing Watters and Neeld. IMO if you are a successful club, it's the cost of doing business.

In the HUN today.

"Demons Sticking to their Guns"

McLardy said the club would continue to do "Whatever it takes" to be successful and are unrepentant in their pusuit of Jason Taylor.

At long last we are baring our teeth off field.

This is the Change in culture We've been after. Hoping it translates to the same change in culture on the ground.

Keep going Don...this helps membership. Shows the club wants to win not just be part of the numbers.

I dont think there is any change. This is more a continuation.

I would have thought the current administration has been sticking to its guns and doing "Whatever it takes" to be successful.

We tanked in 2008/09 to gain PPs. We quickly traded some supporters favoured sons (McLean and Brock) for picks. We have pursued player trades aggressively. Much of this was done with some short term pain but with an LT perspective in place.

So according to Eddie they poach people "respectfully" where as what we're doing isn't. I think I get it now.

Yes....This is the time to stand up otherwise we will get bashed again. They don't want MFC to climb, that's obvious.

The continual hand wringing here over Eddie continually spruiking Collingwood's interest is hilarious. I am not sure why so many are rivetted listening to him. He is a frist class spruiker of his own or Collingwood's interest. Its the same thing time and time again.

A bit over the top.

He made inflamatory remarks towards Melbourne to the point where even our president has made a not so thinly veiled response.

When will McLardy get over the hand wringing?

McLardy hardly goes into meltdown on every McGuire comment like some on D'land. And i would expect McLardy to be a bit more astute when deciding when and if to respond to McGuire.

Its always the same from McGuire. You know what he is going to say. The double standards are mostly obvious and consistent. He wants a better deal for Collingwood...period. Most of his talk is self spun and serving promotion that just stirs the pot and the chooks go for it.

Apart from the old contrarian up there^, it's good to see a thread where the vast majority of us are united. So good on you Eddie, make yourself look like an idiot (sponsors comment) while uniting opposition supporters. Good job.

'Some' being the operative word. Generalisations aren't required when posters wish to voice their opinion on issues related to Melbourne and making them adds nothing to the discussion.

Which is why most people try not to listen to him either in a football capacity or non football capacity. Listening to SEN in a week leading up to a Melbourne vs Collingwood game is hardly being "rivetted" to McGuire.

I wouldn't mind the Ponsford stand as a social club for members during away games.

Well you can bet London to a brick he is going to be on SEN to represent Collingwood interests and he is going to stir the pot. And its typical SEN fodder. I am not sure why you punish yourself. B)

I don't listen to SEN often either but it is beside the point in any case. They call him "Eddie Everywhere" for a reason. It is about tuning out from him when he invades your ear space but this week he was asked about an issue involving Melbourne, the same issue McLardy addressed - pretty simple.

So it comes back to making generalisations...

I don't know what your problem is; McGuire disrespects the MFC, posters on a MFC supporter board get upset, as they should, and you think they're going over the top.

If the supporters on here were not prepared to show outrage I think you/we would have greater cause for concern.

How is this antagonist a mod?

I know people that don't read Demonland just because of Rhino Richards.

Usually I couldn't care less, but I'm sick of seeing this guy's double standards, and his constant condescending hounding of WYL is frankly tiresome.

This question is for any of the other mods to read/reply/delete, so RR you need not concern yourself.

I agree, I reckon at least 50% or more of his posts are to berate others.

I think 1858's point is well made regarding McGuire and McLardy re Melbourne and the poaching. It's news for supporters of both clubs and of significant interest in recruiting for the FD. Regardless of it being on SEN, 3AW or wherever.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
