Mark Jamar

Will give the team a lift BUT, we went into this game with near identical circumstances last year, on a high after beating the Bummers, this year the challenge is to back it up and not get blow away. GO DEES! The procession of signings begins

Might need to add Robert Walls to the growing list of king goose contenders.

I expected Jamar to sign myself, you can tell he loves the club as he stated it earlier in the year he wanted to be a one club man.

He's a very hard to move ruckman is mark..not your athletic jeff white type but more a hold his ground & strong mark type.

Thanks for giving us some good news mark as its been a long year to date.

Now for the barcode lookalikes on monday!

This actually is a big statement.

All the crap about the senior players and the rift with Neeld being put out there, then Jamar goes and re-signs for 3 more years.

Big slap in the face to all those reporters suggesting things. It shows that the culture is growing down there this signature and that the senior guys are onboard

Never in doubt for mine. He said he wanted to remain a demon and sometimes you just have to take a player's word for it.

Well done MFC and well done Jamar. Definitely a required player and now we can all breath easy knowing our ruck department isn't going to become a problem for us.

3 years is perfect to "pass the baton" onto the next hopeful.

Go Dees :)

Reporters are doing a fine job of late....getting most of it wrong....

How good does Robinson feel right now....such an arrogant tool he is..Him & moron whately on 360 go together well...

But back to JAMAR!!!! YESS! Now for a big game V the Pies where he just bowls over their rucks!

Great to hear!

Fair to say we have moved away from the '1 year deals' for those in their thirties...

He will be 32 when this expires. And that is fine, ruckmen's careers start later and, if all is well, finish later.

There was no doubt in my mind that he would stay a demon, maybe a touch surprised we gave him a three year deal but still very happy. Hopefully others will start to follow his example and ink some deals.

Good work Russian and good work MFC

Now lets sign up the rest of the key lads (young and old)

I agree. A new culture may finally be building. Whats that thing about Better clubs keeping players !

We might just be turning that corner at long last. Thanks for the vote of confidence there Russian :)

I was one who thought he might be expendable based on the number of rucks on our list and the fact that I thought his performance peaked in 2010 - however I am glad he has signed on for 3 and can hopefully see Gawn and/or Fitzpatrick take over the rucking mantle at that time.

Would assume his deal would also likely be heavily back ended so that when he is eligible for veterans status only half of his salary has to be in the cap.

Actually the veterans list rules have been changed - no longer is it half the salary of up to 3 or so players, now it is $100K per veteran taken outside the cap with no limit on how many veterans you can have.

I see Jamar and Gawn being our Cox / Natanui in 2-3 years time

Brilliant news. great to see he has faith in whats going on. Will make signing others a lot easier.

Next.....

Well done Rush! We need your mature body, experience and strong work ethic around the place for a while yet. 2-3 years should be just about right to hand over the mantle of number one ruckman to the next generation.

Glad he's re-signed, but Jamar is not a strong mark. He rarely takes them.

Apparently he didnt think GWS facilities were good enough....... ^_^

Wonder if Caro will rethink Jamar being [censored] at being left out of leadership group (despite the fact he was actually included this year)

Mass exodus of players.......3 years and STILL waiting

Apparently he didnt think GWS facilities were good enough....... ^_^

either that or couldnt locate this weeks hidden location or care for some of the company they keep.

Good onya Rush -> that's really sticking it up that weak flower who you'll be opposed to on Sunday who couldn't stand the heat so he peed out of the kitchen.

great stuff big russian!!

he was a must sign, and now let the flow on effect take place

FRAC* David King said he'd be staggered if Jamar was at the Dees in 2013.

Happy to help with 'staggering' of David King.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
