A suggestion from SEN.

What do you think?

Posted

I'd suggest that the incorrect spelling of his name is getting out of hand.

Also, I'd suggest that the idea of Mitch Clarke Clark as captain is also out of hand. What are his credentials?

Posted

Ah no. Prefer someone more imbued in MFC. Mitch might might have leadership capabilities but lets seem them over a year or two before putting him in the leadership group.

NQR---Not quite right to have Clark in the leadership at this time .And I believe that Judd captained West Coast for 2 years being 2006,2007.

Nice! I guess that cemented him going to the blues then. My opinion - you should have to earn it -

Nobody in the leadership group in 2011 earnt anything as far as the supporters were concerned. All positions vacant for me.

We put too many riders on our captaincy and LG.

Pick the best leaders and don't be afraid to go young.

I hope that is all that is taken into account.

If it means the status quo then it means the status quo.

It also means we are in trouble...

When you say "all positions vacant for me", would you suggest the club should have kept to thier initial plans and waited till after the NAB cup?

J5 whether the Group is chosen pre or post NAB Cup i don't really mind.....i would like the list to play some serious Football to see who emerges as True Leadership. Leadership can be taught, but True Leadership comes from DNA that then emerges when the heat is applied.

Neeld may decide last years group is to continue....with a new FD things will be different...but i am happy not to rush things...let them evolve.

But all positions should be wide open after last year.

What would that say to other clubs about our football department? When did Juddy gain the captaincy at Carlton.

There's no comparison to be made with Carlton/Judd and Melbourne/Clark. One was a champion/Brownlow/premiership hero, the other is - at the moment - not more than a good player with a lot of potential.

We already have a few of those AND they've done their apprenticeships as Melbourne players.

Yeah, nah.

Bit too much weed being smoked down at SEN.

Yes i heard Venom. Worth a thought if he is training as well as i hear.

I just tune out when Venom comes on.

It's just a ploy to get us to ring up, tweet or SMS just to get his profile raised.

Someone who wanted to go home, but chose to come to us instead cos we offered him a boatload of money... captain?? no thanks. Would prefer someone who loves the club (Moloney) and/or has been with us from the start.

Additionally would also like to make sure he is actually not, you know, the biggest trade disaster in history before we go and make him the captain. I think Carlton could be fairly sure that the J**d exchange was going to work and although Clark might be a huge hit he's not a 100% guaranteed success.

Besides, suggestion was by Greg Denham and suggestions by him should be instantly forced into an industrial sized shredder closely followed by Denham himself.

Happy to stick with current captain but would take Moloney or JT as a long shot.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
