Got an email from a client yesterday they got flooded out on Friday night so I have to go there instead of training; bugger.

Hope there are some reports for those that can't attend.

This is the message i got from the club the other day

'Mon 31st boys are back in training and its going to be tough, Come along 9.30 AM Goschs Paddock & join before Mon for free team Calendar"

Excellent thanks for that.

I'll be there and I'm pumped to see how Mitch Clark goes and if Sylvia is away from the main group, if he's there at all! Should be good to see what they do, I'd imagine mostly skills rather than running, put on some sort of a show for the fans. Also i got the text too and they said goodies, I wonder?

Tweet from the club:

"Pre-season training starts tomorrow. Boys will be on the track around 9:45am @ Gosch's Paddock. Plenty of hard work ahead."

Your reports are most welcome and we will also try to put up a training summary on our articles board incorporating some of the best passages from the training reports.

Also, don't expect our IR trio of Brad Green ©, James Frawley and Jack Trengove to feature at this week's training. Chippa just tweeted that he's arrived on the Gold Coast.

Don't expect Mitch Clark to do anything other than laps (if he's there at all). He had knee surgery in the break and will be with the rehab group for a few weeks.

Great, so we can regard Clark's signing as a true swap for Scully.

My enthusiasm for the coming season is almost as strong as the disappointment of the last

I need to pay the bills so I wait with a dry mouth any reports, I thank you in advance those that get to training and report,

I can remember some Geelong supporter friends feeling simillar a few years ago,

Full Metal Jacket will be in my DVD player tonight. The journey starts tomorrow.

True Grit is in mine now.

While Full Metal Jacket is great. I hope that we don't go down that path.

Come round 1 I would much prefer the boys to be good at football rather than cleaning guns and marching while singing.

Come round 1 I would much prefer the boys to be good at football rather than cleaning guns and marching while singing.

This is my football.

There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

My football is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

Without me, my football is useless. Without my football, I am useless.

I must kick my football true.

I must kick straighter than my enemy who is trying to beat me.

I must defeat him before he defeats me. I will.

Before Stynes, I swear this creed: My football and myself are defenders of my Club.

We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my team.

So be it, until there is no Enemy, but Victory.

Go Dees.

Look forward to reading the training reports, and being unrealistically bullish for 2012.

<insert players name> looks huge! Must have packed on 5kg of muscle in the past 4 weeks!

Thought the same thing.

Expect reports that certain players are "training the house down"

I hope many, many MFC players are "training the house down!!".

I also hope "<insert players name>" is Cale Morton and he has put on 5kgs in the last month, he sure needs to!

Even if reports are a touch exaggerated, I am more than happy to have any positive training stories put up on this forum. Its been a big off season for the club, but all in all it comes down to the players doing the work and improving. My fingers are crossed that this pre season is the one that starts a big upswing for the club.

Any photos from anyone down there today would be super!

Great. We need more muscle in the middle.

All be it in 12 months time with regards to Jack..Again developing muscle is an ongoing thing..some seem to have developed a little more.

Jones ? Maloney ? its not necessarily muscle - its players who can get the ball and extract it.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
