The New Sponsors

Interesting to see Dave Misson's weekly update on the MFC site that he is wearing the club polo with Energy Watch displayed high-ish on the right side, and when lining it up with our emblem on the left, the EW logo is quite a bit higher.

This to me means that there is an expectation that a different logo will be placed underneath the EW one.

One for B59 though, when the camera is zoomed in on DM, try and picture that 2nd logo underneath the EW one. I know which logo will have more exposure in shots like that...

Billy et al ...the club has been quite involved in its China journey far beyong a trip and a game there. This has been going on for quite a while. I admit its off the top of my head but 6-7 ( at least ) years seems indicative. The expo game was only the culmination of quite a few years effort.

If any club can claim to initialising the China connection it IS Melbourne. . I actually must apologise to Mr So as in thinking back its was during his reign as Mayor that the suggestion was made ( as he was a predominant member) thaty Melb look to the China connection. Many may not know of our esteemed connection to China, not only historically but commercially.

We should be chasing major mining sponsorship. Go and get a BHPB, FMG or Rio... Look at the Dockers with Woodside.

Something with an Aussie flavour to it.

Haha yep the third biggest company in the world to advertise on the front of the Demons jumper

I wouldnt be signing up 1.3M for 5 years, maybe 3.

In 5 years time just like 2-3 years ago with Kaspersky sponsorship dollars have doubled, so it would imo be quite low in terms of markets dollars.

Maybe sign an Energy Watch up at 2 million for 4-5 years but not 1.3M imo

Red leg, you have your answer above--worth a thought, don't you think. Or at least he should be able to value the sponsorship available. In particular, the BoQ is developing nationally.

From Cameron Schwab himself, on Twitter:-

Back in Melbourne after a whirlwind trip to China. Kunming, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Mianyang and back to Guangzhou in 5 days

I'm not familiar with Chinese geography or business.

Any large companies in these cities that are looking to expand into the Australian markets?

Changhong is based in Mianyang.

I'm pretty sure there's a large volume of electronics that come out of Mianyang and Shenzen.

Hauwei and Skyworth are Shenzen based companies.

Huawei have just released a new line of smart phones. They look like they're making a concerted effort at improving their brand recognition and market share. They've recently inked their first sports sponsorship deal and have appointed new directors in Australia to oversee local market strategy.

Two good possiblities

I think our next sponsor will be form Asia, and if so will be lucrative

BoQ I don't think can be our major sponsor as it would upset too many Queenslanders if they were sponsoring Melbourne rather than Lions or GC. I could see them being a minor sponsor. Bad luck I think that one of our Directors is the boss of an interstate named and based bank. I know they have branches here but most are in Queensland. Stuart may even resign from our Board if he is now based in Queensland. Don't think I am misreading this, but maybe I am.

Making sense, but how else do you promote a product in Victoria if your serious?

The chances of BoQ, being a major sponsor is a long shot. But who knows?

At this stage having Stuart retaining his Directorship is great. I, you and many wouldn't have a clue whom will come on board, but one thing,I am sure you agree on.

Let's get another major and hopefully for a great dollar value and be at least 2/3 years.

Happy Xmas MFC.

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
