Would be nice. But it wont happen.

Maric too Richmond, Picks 12, 36, McGuane too Brisbane, Clark too Melbourne.

I find it strange that this site is full of people wanting Melbourne to take a risk and go hard at getting what we want. Then when we do people complain about it being too much!!

Obviously Neeld and co and decided that we specifically need a big body that can go forward. Clark is the only one avalible so we are going out and making it happen, against the odds.

Its a specfic targeted strategy and if thats what we need then we have to be preparded to pay for it. Clark could be the link in the chain that wins us a grand final in a few years. Make it happen Dees!!

Absolutely spot on!

Years of living in draft pick land have blurred the reality for some.

No mention of that on Trade Week Radio. Sounds like BS to be honest. Pick 16 + 20 is a better prospect than 12 + Maric.

If the Lions didn't like Pick 12 + Maric we could up it to just Pick 12.

Apparently Brisbane now asking for pick 12 + Maric?! Anyone else heard this?

Ha, would do that in a heart beat, doubt it's true though.

What people have to remember when saying we are paying "overs" is that it is all relative. Clark is what we need to plug a hole in our side that has troubled us since Neitz retired. He is also in our age bracket. Is it worth giving 12 & compo to get him considering we know we have Viney coming next year plus another compo pick to use? You can only stockpile draft picks/young kids for so long and if we lose out on an extra kid (compo pick) and land a player who can a plug a hole then I reckon we've done extremely well.

That being said I reckon Clark will still say he wants to go to Freo but you can't fault us for trying our damnedest.

No. Where did you hear it? BS

If Clark is adamant he does'nt want to come too Dee's.

Pick 12 & Maric too Freo for Pick 16 & Ballantyne. Walters?

Pick 12 & 20 will get them Clark.

Let's be honest: 16 and 20 for Mitch Clark is rubbish. Brisbane have every right to knock that back.

Wasnt everyone saying yesterday 12 was enough to get the deal done if he wanted to come here?

16 & 20 is probably as good as 12 surely - its a pick four down the queue + pick 20

I reckon 12 and a high second rounder/equivalent player might get it done.

Two low first rounders seems mediocre for such a highly-talented footballer.

I just think at that stage of the draft, 4 picks is a really big gap.

Mitch Clark plays his best footy in the ruck and is not quick enough to play as a permanent KPF.

We should go for the best value permanent KPF. I would like to see us go for Ó hAilpín, Fevola and/or Walsh as they are much cheaper options and we get to keep our picks. We could also do well out of brokering a deal so Clark gets to Freo.

We have the ruck well covered with Jamar and Martin. We also need to remember that Gawn and Cook will be good players.

I doubt we will get Clark anyway given he wants to go to WA.

i think it will be an offer of either pick 12 or one of the compo picks + a highish second rounder (which we will gain from a swap of Warnock/Maric/Bate + our own second rounder)

Wrong. He is an enigmatic but at times dominant young key forward who can ruck. You obviously didn't see him eat us up at Visy in the pre-season playing full forward.

One of the impacts of getting Clark is the possible return we might get on a trade in a year or two. If Fitzpatrick kicks on you'd think either he, Martin, Spencer or Jamar would be excess to needs. I'm assuming Gawn is our main ruck after the Russian has finished and is non negotiable.

I see Clark as a forward but his rucking ability is very valuable.

Clark's Manager is on Trade Week Radio and has stated he wants to go to Freo - Surprise, Surprise. He doesn't want to play for us. Is everyone clear on that? Can we please move on and actually do something constructive this trade week and land a player that wants to be at the club!

His manager just said he didn't want to come to Dees on Trade Week Radio apparently... :(

Yep. I was listening to it. Colin Young confirmed that Melbourne's offer was satisfactory to Brisbane (Pick 12, he said). Clark is adamant that he wants go to Freo though, so that's just about that.

And that is what we will do.

All he has to do is walk, Brisbane can draft him back in the PSD, so can we for that matter but would we want to, or would they? What he has to be careful of is GW$ have the first pick and Sheedy wouldn't hesitate to use it on him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
