Range Rover, you are unbelievable and a child

Him signing still doesn't prove your theory, not 1 bit

Sad, sad fact you're preferring to celebrate being "right"

My finger is directed more at the AFL for putting a 20 year-old in a position to chose between a contract 200% higher than his market worth, and a contract 1000% higher than his market worth.

I said this earlier, yes AFL has a part to play, but Clubs signed it off. I think everyone has been done over because they assumed GWS would target older bigger bodies to compliment the youngsters they have through the draft. How wrong they were.....

You claim to drive a Range Rover but you quite clearly have no class.

He's posting from the snow, don't you know? :D

So I guess they'll move the Boxing Day test from the MCG to Skoda Stadium as well.

The boys are going to be bloody upset about that one, I bet.

It's one thing ‘having’ to lie to all and sundry for the better part of a season, but to break up with the club over the phone is just one further insult. No matter how much spin you put on it Tom, this does not reflect well on you young man.

Regardless of how I feel about Scully for defecting, my deeper anguish is that we have wasted a number 1 draft pick. They are so precious and we've lost ours for a pick 17 and maybe another pick.

Forget about Scully's suspect knee and whether or not he will be a star, that pick should have delivered us a Nick Reiwoldt/Hodge/Goddard/Deledio/Murphy. I'm just shattered that through no fault of our own (MFC just couldn't go $ for $ with GW$), the pick has been wasted.

I'm sure our compensation pick will get us a good player, but they won't be like the players mentioned above.

Gutted.

I think, for a number of reasons, we have probably dodged a big bullet

Only time will tell

Not apportioning any blame (others will no doubt) but just trying to look at reality

In the end money talks, like it or not

Unfortunately this has hung over our heads like the Sword of Damocles and damaged our season

There is nowhere to go now but onwards and upwards (I fervently hope)

Exactly how I feel.

OK.

First of all, to people like Bub, who are using the decision to justify their opinions, don't be ridiculous. The fact that Scully has chosen to go to GWS does not mean he made the decision any earlier than today/yesterday. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise.

Scully was always entitled to make his own decision, and if he wants to set his life up financially, that's a perfectly legitimate reason to switch clubs. That's a hell of a lot of money.

Having said that, I feel as though the way he made the decision and informed the club has been poor. Have some guts Tom, come down to Melbourne, stand in the rooms of the club that gave you your chance and tell your teammates that you want to move to Sydney to secure your life financially. Don't fly up to Sydney and call the club from there.

For that reason, more than anything else, I will boo Scully when he next runs out against us. I will call him a mercenary, I will get angry, I will hope that Sylvia or Moloney or Tapscott lay the fairest but meanest hip and shoulder whenever they get the chance. I will always respect his decision to ensure that he is financially stable for life, but I will never forget the cowardly way he chose to inform the oldest and proudest club in the AFL that he had chosen to play for the youngest and most insipidly branded club.

Goodbye Tom. May you never win a premiership.

Hahaha. Do know that I am laughing at every single post on here with almighty gaffaws.

An entire season I've had to read the 'Scully is Superman' tripe'.

I'll allow myself a couple of light hearted indulgences.

Maybe more than a couple.

Where are the apologies for Schwarz and the journos who nailed it?

Huh? Come Rpfc ... let's hear it!

Facepalm. You are classless. If you think I am going to offer accolades on presumptions you have another thing coming.

You're not going to get anything from RPFC. RPFC represents loyalty and a level-head.

You represent self righteousness with a smug attitude. Classic Narcissist. Have fun with that. You are sullying your name. Like Mr Sully!

Melbourne have announced a press conference at 2pm. Schwab & McLardy to front the press conference.

Turns out that the priority pick was actually an insurance pick. At least we got another bite of the cherry with Trengove. Given we fleeced Carlton with the McLean deal, we’ve gone from winning to maybe breaking even out of that draft. Depending on what we do with compensation picks, it could still end up being a win.

Should the MFC been more aware of his attitude as a number one pick considering that the new Farce clubs were arriving??

Not having a go, but were we diligent enough.....Those 2 years were very tough to get through.....

Yep but on the bright side we have Trengove and Watts with us for the next decade and hopefully they can deliver us the elusive flag. Getting it will be all the sweeter knowing the obstacles we have had to overcome.

They were, my post wasn't having a dig at the MFC, I don't think they could have done anything other than they have. He was the best at the time, so we chose him. They likely have done all they can to keep him. My post was just lamenting the wasted pick. Not laying blame.

Am a little confused about some of the Scully stuff.

There is talk about him being a person of integrity. There is talk that he came home from China early because of inappropriate behaviour.

But now it would appear that he may lack integrity himself, although I doubt we will ever know if he out and out lied or if he just bent the truth.

Also while there are many things that can be said about Sheedy, I don't think he is the epitome of integrity.

While he may one day become a great player, I doubt he will ever be remembered as a person of integrity.

Unfortunately this is what Demetriou's AFL has made people into.

Have a sense of humour. It's just a game boys. Just a game.

And I love the Deez as much as anyone.

Interesting to note that your profile is a new one that was only created yesterday? If I was the admin on this site, I would be looking at a more permanent ban.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
