malthouse doesn't envy viney's task.. he reckons

- go one-on-one

- move the ball on your terms before west coast get their players back

The club reported ''general soreness'' as the reason for the skipper being replaced by youngster Daniel Nicholson

That fair he did play a blinder last week. Well I did'nt see him do anything

What's clear is that none of the coaches should remain next yr. Neither should many of the senior players. Complete overhaul needed.

Howe doesn't belong at this club.

Why is that? is it because he is too good?

I am in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. Game is live on TV, but I can't bear to watch anymore. I am going out to get some food poisoning.

Interesting isnt it that Malthouse can not only spot our weaknesses but offer the fix. Shame hes not going anywhere next year !!:(

A genuine leader doesn't bail on his young teammates with 'general soreness'.

Soft as butter.

What is Nathan2jones.com doing in an AFL jumper? Can't kick, can't think, can't play.

Aaron Davey ... what has become of you? You wouldn't get a kick in B-grade ammos at the moment.

Whats what with Watts ?

Yes. Howe has too much heart. Let's hope the club culture doesn't get to him too.

I don't get why we now no longer have the loose man in defence. This suggests we have recognised it's not working. Which begs the question: why in hell did we use it in the first place? It just makes NO sense.

e25's argument might make sense but by now we should be looking to wins, not to development. I think the coaches honestly think it's a strategy that will help us in that it gives us numbers behind the ball and that suits our gameplan of running of half back.

Fighting back a bit here though. 4 of the last 5 goals.

After last year this is very hard to take. One good point "well as good as i can come up with" as bad as we are, we are just going to miss the finals.

did we just wake up ??..did we think the game started at 2.10 ..lol

Youd only start with a loose man in defence if you have already given up the game in your head. Youre effectively playing catch up footy without a scoer on the board but youve conceded youre going to lose and are hoping to minimise the damage.

Its called SOFT...Its called GUTLESS.

No matter what you HAVE to play a game as though you are playing to win.

Disgusting selfishness from Sylvia who ignored Dunn then took the shot himself, and missed. Dunn was about 15 metres out.

Now Bartram misses a shot on goal. Again. His kicking is deplorable.

Of course, they then go coast to coast and score a goal.

All of Davey, Morton, scully, jones, Sylvia, batram should be subbed if we could. There are your changes for next week anyway.

we were always going to miss the finals.... some simply arent real;ists. Al wel and good to barrack and support at the game.. but with both eyes open and an element of truth added we were never in the hunt.

anyhow..

Go Dees

woohoo...less than 50 behind.. a cracker of a day

I was at the local pub watching the game but had to leave at half time.

Dwain Russell was unbearable. Yes. We are playing badly Dwain but there is no need to sink the knife in at every opportunity.

At least when Bruce and Dennis are calling they just rabbit on about how good the winning team is.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
