12,500.

If we're lucky.

After winning last week I am on a roll but I reckon you are close to the mark

13890.

I reckon there are 5000 Eagles fans visiting and living in melbourne.

Everyone of them will be smelling an easy win and will turn up.

That leaves the Dees with 8890. Seems a lot but I will stick to my number.

I would hope for a lot more than this.

While we cant expect 35,000 members to rock up - surely we can show unity with more than this.

Maybe some injuries, WC away from home (they have been good this year away I appreciate), last chance to show that we can actually compete with a club who is decent this year. Lets get behind them!

[i know - it is almost impossible to imagine that we will be competitive - but I cant go through the whole week acknowledging we will get smashed again - stand up MFC!]

I doubt we had more than 10 000 at the G last saturday, where I was we did not have 25% of the crowd.

I cannot see more than that at the house of pain where most of us have to pay to get in.

But what is your guess?

Im not expecting a huge crowd. I reckon anywhere between 10 and 20 thousand and we will have to write out a big cheque to the AFL. Another thing for the CEO and board to worry about.

12-15,000 at best

Yip I'm not confident ... but I will be there. Just hope we dont get out supported in Victoria.

I been to Subiaco many, many times and thats hard enough ... but never the less always enjoyable even if we dont win. But for it to happen in Victoria ... geez that would not be good as a sign of things to come. Especially from an AFL point of view ... but such is life.

So I'm going for 29,978 I hope.

16000, that'll be a good turn out in my books. I hate the joint, a few Melbourne mates arn't going because they hate it that much. I'll go to support the boys but no frigging way am I paying a dime in there.

Serious mistake by the AFL to fixture us a home game at Etihad.

It's ridiculous.

I seriously expect more West Coast supporters to be there than Dees supporters.

I'll never go to that stadium again...

although I might make an exception if it were a final featuring MFC.

does anyone know the financial implications?

I know we have a good deal at the MCG - I assume we get the same Etihad deal as teams like North or the Dogs.

hehehehe ... AFL gives nearly ever Victorian club a game there if they are not great crowd pullers.

Sorry. but we all got to do our fair share in 2011. You just wont win this debate with the AFL ... like it or lump it we have to live with it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
