Enjoy the feeling of 50,000+ Melbourne supporters at the ground ... giving to them Adelaide - as interstate supporters give it to us.

OH!! But wait .. it might be raining, we are not playing well or some lame excuse.

Time to stand up boys & girls - if it is to be its up to me. Time for our true supporters to do their bit.

I'm sure our keyboard critics will have their say either way the result goes.

I know where I will be on Sunday.

Go Dees!!!

I may seem strange, but I will be disappointed if the team can suddenly lay more tackles and play with more passion and desire than last week.

For the last few years, Melbourne have struggled because of being a young developing team. If the team can actually come out and lift this weekend because of the pressure put on them since the loss, it shows a real problem at the club in getting motivated to play AFL every week. To me this is much worse, and the coaching staff need to take the blame, and the coach must go.

See your point, and yes i agree...But if we do win on sunday we must keep the pressure on so that the same attitude is followed up. We won't win every game, but we can certainly lift the standard that the Players expect from each other.

Four quarters of high intensity footy, aggression and heart. I want them to play like their lives depend on the result of the game.

Id settle for a pulse this team is flat lining.

watching the game from the stands on thursday the main thing that struck me was how easily the eagles were able to pass the ball, and how easily they could release a free man when we were trying to apply a press/zone to them.

i think we should play man-on-man until bailey can put his hand on his heart and say that the players can implement his zone style with positive results. Playign man-on-man makes playes ACOUNTABLE, which currently they are not IMO, which was backed up by the player review on MFC.com.au which painted a far too rosy picture of alot of player imo.

So what do i want to see? For now, players picking up oppositon players not space.

MOVEMENT and RUNNING, attempts to change our PROCESS and INTENSITY at the ball and the opposition player with the ball.

An unfliching desire to win. If they do not win, it better be bloody close, and they better have fought like all hell. Oh and if at all possible, maybe not see one single ball kicked out on the full or into the man on the mark

I'd like to see Davey produce a near BOG performance and actually demonstrate some of the run and carry that once made him a star.

Posted

I'd like to see 22 players out there who are proud to wear the Red and Blue and actually do it some justice

Posted

A bit of mongrel & desire to rip the opposition apart with physical aggression when not in possession. Work Rate & Hard Running, Tackling, pressure, chasing, all the so called 1 percenters which should be just an every game non negotiable norm at the club, but this team seems to struggle to perform.

Really?

So you are going for the win today, instead of 2 tomorrow?

beamer to walk into the first centre bounce with intent, and bump straight into scott thompson.

tappy and frawls to get straight into tippet and walker as they walk into the 50, no stupid free kicks but a bit of body work!

and intent, hard tackling, and when we do tackle that they stick, clean ball use, and one on one defence instead of the stupid zone off and not be accountable

22 looking like they want to be out there playing for each other! A total unacceptance of being intimidated. Wattsy stringing 2 high intensity performances together. Im telling you theyll get behind this guy when he realises it and i want to see it against North as well.

Sure. I'm getting a bit tired of the mythical tomorrow. I seem to remember being told that tanking would be fine for the soul of the club and all my tomorrows would be good. How's that one working out again?

To be quite honest, I'll be really [censored] if we thrash a top-8 side in Adelaide because that'll show what this team is capable of, and yet we didn't show it last week. We shouldn't need a week of criticism to play well. That shouldn't initiate it. I'm just sick of this team playing insipid football and then essentially being told how they SHOULD be playing. It's happened countless times in the 20 years I've followed this club. Why can't we just play consistently? The last time we played consistent football was when we were consistently inconsistent with Neale Daniher.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
