James Frawley's injury

Allus Monk

10-12 weeks seem a long time for a pec injury,

and if I was Shaun Hampson I'd probably intentionally injure myself too to spend more time with Ms Gale.

Conspiracy theory: Hence why he got injured on Gale's treadmill at her Sydney home.

Heard Bails on SEN this morning talk about chip, says he will start jogging/running next week.

He will return, Hopefully by the time he does return he will have to fight his way back into the line up.

I want all players hungry for success.

Sure, but he is still a young un, his body will repair itself, and he does have medical staff on call 24/7

Someone else will get a chance while he is recouperating.

2011 is all about positives (I hope!!!)

Agreed WYL.

For mine, this could be an advantage. But chip wouldn't be happy. But for the long term, I think better for the teams Ultimate success.

Hopefully this will give a young player their chance to prove their Value to the team, for now, And for our future!

There are a few that need the luck going their way, to show their skills and prove their abilities. (Martin,, Newton,, Spencer,, and some of the newbies may show something)... The absence,,, especially early in the season can be a good thing for these young bucks.

It also gives us a chance, as well as seeing some new talls,,, to then, (Upon Chips return), put the peddle down, to push on, for the potential of Finals Games.

All in all, this will ultimately help to build our future strength.

Our biggest weakness, in my mind, will be our ability to give games to individuals, who are 'on the fringe'.

He also said regarding Chip- that the target date would be Round 3 or 4. but may get back earlier.

Nice spin but for the teams ultimate success the best thing is to have guys like Frawley without serious injury(which is what this is) and playing every week. It builds his confidence and the teams.

Absolutely, but it is a contact sport so a plan B is just as useful in the long term. Look at Carlton, if Ju$$ goes down with an LTI they will plummett (great), but i hope we can minimize that at the MFC.

Frawley will be back, but in the meantime the show must go on....

Expectations are totally different to hopes. FWIW I too hope Frawley has to fight his way back into the team. No one should be a walk up start in a strong team.

reason for edit- new article up on AFL.com.au about Bailey's thoughts on the Frawley's recuperation time and the NAB cup format. Says we will be picking our fittest players for NAB cup preliminary rounds. No surprises

To all Demonlanders. I apologize for my tardiness. I have been away for quite some time and am trying to get a few things in order here in Melbourne. I have promised a bit of a report on Chip's injury from a medical perspective (esp. to jayceebee31 via PM) and I promise I will get around to doing this asap. So now that I have publicly written this post I have no choice but to honour that commitment. I did promise to do it by last Sat, but other commitments got in the way. I will make a new promise to write something meaningful by midnight tomorrow (Wednesday). I guess I have 10-12 weeks :-P But I'll do it sooner than that.

Take it with a grain of salt (or a whole handful if you like) but Chip posted on his Twitter a short while ago that he's started rehab and may even be a chance for Round 1.

Also of note he mentioned the only 3 other players in rehab at this time are Robbie Campbell,Juice Newton and Jordy Gysberts.

This is a good sign for that list to be so small, given what we've seen at North, Freo and Carlton already.

I wasnt aware that Jordan Gysberts was still injured. He must be still rcovering from hip operation

I really hope he is ready to play soon as i believe imo he is one of our most exciting prospects

Any more info?

Hey ,my friend- no need to pressure yourself- if time does not permit- leave it. It is not that crucial to me as I have spoken to Chip directly and Chris Connolly about it. It just didn't make some sense to me- however if time does find it's way then I'd love to read it. However, the most important thing to me is your coaching of the Demonlanders. They need to WIN and I want you to make sure you [censored] Demonlander if he plays( only rassin-Andy).

Have a great time with the guys.Hopefully I can get there to help out.Another little peice of advise is- try to get a colllection of players down there to meet, plan the match etc before the day.Communication is the key.Get High Towwer to post whatever you want to say also on the Demonology site for you.

Strained a hammy a few weeks ago, didn't he?

Did he even have a hip operation? He injured his back last year.

I know Tapscott did...

Frawley aims for Round 1

Good news

Chips recovering faster than expected and aiming for a possible Round 1 return.

even if he misses that target he ought not miss to much footy this year which is good for him, the club and all of us wishing him and the club success !! :)

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
