Seems very much like the Dunn, Newton, Bate draft.

Only time will tell but that's the feeling I get I think our first 2 selections were far to high and probably missed some real talent only my opinion

Yeah, you never lose on draft day, but sometimes you get bad luck and the ones you want are the pick before. Lynch I reckon would have been good to get, and then some say O'Shea is the reason we paused so long for the last pick... but then had we REALLY wanted him, we'd have taken him 3 picks before.

So I'm not too sure I can get overly excited by this one. I like that we have talls finally, but want to see more before I get up and about.

Don't ask me why, but McDonald... just makes me think of Miller. (something about commitment/travelling from the north).

Please don't hate me.

God I love people who come on here 2 minutes after we've drafted a player and complain that maybe we made a mistake.

Are you people recruiters?

Just calm down and trust the club. We haven't made too many mistakes recently!

pretty disappointed.. pick 12 on Cook was way to early.. same with Howe..

i know we have a lot of mids.. but how can you pass on Atley???

I'm pretty happy with the tack we took. Obviously it was decided that we need to work on our firepower, and that's what they've done. If only one of them kicks on that's a win for our forward line. 2 would be great. I doubt all 4 will make it, but that's the law of averages talking.

I'm smiling. :)

Yeah I dont really know but my first thoughts are that we may have reached and picked some players early because we were going for type...

But BP has been good so far so we will just have to back him in...

Well one would have to say that we @ the MFC have to be happy, as BP seems to have gotten who he wanted. It's quite clear we went on 'needs' rather than 'best available'. Cook would have been there at pick 33, Howe seems an interesting one though (more excited about him than Lucas Cook).

Agreed. He hasn't steered us wrong so far. I do have a concern about the number of talls we have on the list, but it's not a huge issue. Better to have some in reserve than not to have any.

i like the Howe pick, although he plays role that we a solid at.

Was not expecting Lucas Cook and was slightly annoyed we didn't grab Atley or even Jack Darling, but who am i to question the recruiting staff, they have killed it the last few years.

Another 9 clubs passed on him as well....................

Well when you have picks 1,17,19,1,2,11&18, it's pretty hard to go wrong. With our selections made tonight, we will really get to see if BP is any good at his job.

Will just have to trust i suppose.....i remember thinking who the hell is Jamie Bennell when we picked him the other year....and he turned out a great pick!

It's more important to get those 7 picks right.

I'll judge him on those, and so far is doing ok.

arrr not a looker amongst em!

Didn't know you were keen to have your way with our 18 year old draftees

Well done to Jordie. 2 years of hard work have paid off. Love him!

Sorry James. IMO they picked for needs first. It look's, like many sides have early this year.

Bang on, as usual.

The stakes are highest on those early picks. Get the early picks wrong = no possibility of a flag. Get the late picks wrong = miss out on the occasional handy player.

Not allowed to be critical of recruiters/players suddenly? but when it's a 220 game veteran we got for basically nothing, it's ok?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
