I like it....going away from the Green is good and less red is great as there are more than enough takes on red around the league.

Green is now free for GWS!

My first thought too. A cross between the Power and the Victory. Should have just taken the old jumper and replaced the red and green with purple.

Making the purple their own is a good idea. But the biggest problem wasn't the jumper, it was the song, and they've left that.

here is more on the song

“Significantly, we will officially call ourselves the “Fremantle Dockers

Rosich said that the new logo would entrench the anchor as a lasting symbol of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club.

“Furthermore our new jumper, which was inspired by the heritage jumper first worn by the Dockers in 2003 at the MCG, is both an important tribute to our past and an acknowledgement of our football origins.

“We are proud of our 16 year history and proud of the jumper and logo that we have worn and displayed with pride in that time.

“Given the nature of the changes to our logo and jumper and their undeniable acknowledgement to where we have come from as a football club, let there be no doubt that our new logo and jumper will be worn with as much pride in the future as they were in the past.”

Rosich also said that consideration to changing the club song was not undertaken as part of the review process to date.

“Now that an arrangement has been struck with Levi Strauss & Co that process will now take place.

“In the 2011 pre-season, the club will seek feedback from members, supporters and the general public on the Fremantle Dockers’ club song, including possible alternatives,” he said.

“One of the options will be to retain the existing club song.”

The club was delighted to reach an arrangement with Levi Strauss and Co and thanks the company and key staff involved for their cooperation.

I, too, am pleased to see them jetison their old jumper with the hodge podge of colours.

However, frankly, I reckon they would have been better to go with that jumper they occasionally wore a few years back. It was simply the reverse of their clash jumper. That is, all purple, with a white anchor. Looked good!

agree that jumper was perfectly fine and the anchor kept its originality, the new one looks OK but seems like a run of the mill suburban club jumper

I think it's great. Very South Fremantle. Really trying to establish Fremantle as their town, if they haven't already. Great move by the club over there.

People need to understand that they don't have the history or culture that would dictate a logo and jumper like ours. Western Australian tastes, WA market. And it will always have a bit of flair and spunk. I think it looks great. Great incorporation of their colours, and they finally dumped the vomit-from-the-exorcist green.

Looks cheap and tacky - hardly the amount of effort the MFC put in to their new design.

As for the new jumper... I can understand why a fair few Freo supporters are in an uproar. The Dockers had the anchor for 15 years and it was a symbol of who they were and whereabouts from WA they were from.

Just... don't change the song!!! I kinda like it :P Freeeeeo (long) way to go....

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
