From Dean Bailey on the MFC Website.

“I think it’s an important aspect for us for the rest of this year - that [Jack] Watts, [Liam] Jurrah, [Colin] Sylvia, [Matthew] Bate, [Jamie] Bennell and [Aaron] Davey start to get some continuity down there,” he said.

Would indicate that Bate won't be dropped although some are calling for it, also Bennell mentioned and if Maric is to come in who would he replace?

Also can't see Warnock getting a go I think they are just letting him know he is close, same with Wonna.

Agree Robbie F.

Moloney could be a late withdrawal this week??? No inside info just that he was carrying a niggle this week. Maric might come in. Warnock and Wonna to miss.

Hit it on the head!!!

Wont be any further changes unless soemthing/someone else has any issue.

I must say, I usually have some interest on Thursday to see what the team selection will be but its less interesting when they don't actually announce any changes just an extended bench...I guess that the curse of playing so many games on a Sunday

Club still needs a small defender. Can Maric fulfill that role at this stage of his development? Play him on Lewis Jetta and see what happens. I guess we'll find out before too long.

And they could be letting Bate know he's "close" going in the other direction!

Would hardly think the ideal time to trial someone down the opposite end of the ground to which they have become accustomed to would be in their first senior game in 16 months. Hes had 14 weeks down at Casey with a chance to make himself more adaptable. Jetta would surely break his goal duck if that matchup occured.

No-one has advocated Bartram being dropped yet, despite being named in the 18. Whats going on?

Hoping to see Bate have a game in the 2's! He is becoming frustrating to watch. He needs to play to his strengths and ability, we he tries to take on players and have goal attempts from ridiculous places, brings the whole team down. Every week people on this forum are askin for Bartram's head, he's had his best season and every week he's getting the job done on the small forwards. I've heard Beamer is very unlikely to play and won't make the 22 tomorow evening. Do we bring in Maric or Aussie? Personally id like to see Addam get a crack, but we'll see what happens.

I think Maric will come in for either Moloney (most likely) or Green (less likely).

I hope for his own sake that he makes a good fist of it. He has shown nothing at a consistent level in his few previous games at the top level or in his many games at Casey over the last 18 months that inspires any confidence but sometimes players just need to be given a chance.

Good luck Addam. Prove me wrong.

dumb dumb call bate is a good player who is important for our lineup he provides a strong target around the chf region, yes he was rubbish last week but he will do a better job than maric.

I don't agree with the selection either. I think he's important to team structure on a high half foward slash wing. As a linkman if you will. I know Dunn can play this role too, but will they? Time will tell

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
