Jamar and Rivers gone

This would be interesting if it were true. I wouldn't really mind if it went ahead. Rivers I like, but I won't be overly fussed if he leaves, and another high pick can't hurt. Jamar has never shown us enough to be worried about keeping him. As for Westhoff, If he were to put on some muscle he could turn out OK. Perhaps our recruiters see something in him that they like.

As for the other player, I'd love to see us throw everything at Dangerfield. He's fast, strong and skillful. There's nothing about his game that I don't like. Knights? Meh. I don't see the need.

Yeah, I'm with you on Dangerfield, RalphiusMaximus. He's a gun. He reminds me of a younger, tougher Scott Thompson.

Why thank you fine sir, this makes it worth while.

Anyway guys I hope you don't take yourself to seriously about this as I just like to entertain myself, and of course you all.

Biggest stupid thread in a long time, just thought I would start trade week and it's rumours a little bit earlier this year.

I think 2 pages and thousands of views in 5 hours is not bad considering it all just made up.

In a way I suppose you could say I am behind enemy lines as I am a frequent poster on here but obviously come under a different name.

I will refesh my IP address so I can't be blocked.

Love you all

And the sad trade tracker came clean just before 6:00pm so he wouldn't cop the criticism about it not being true. Knew it couldn't be, can't have a team entirely full of teenagers.

Well done [censored]. You've successfully managed to get more anonymous 'supporters' to let another two players know how little they are appreciated... like they needed any help. Good work to the real supporters who backed these two terrific Melbourne players.

That to me is bad news to have a galah on our site (a so called guest - giving us crap- like Whispering Jack, I thought this may be true based on papertalk that Jamar wanted to go back and early on Rivers was looked upon as possible trade bait. The only thing that really concerned me was the possibility of gaining Westoff. I did not think he was right for our forward line- to me we need to get a big bodied bloke up there.

All we need to do know- is recruit young players well, replace the ones left from our coachin ranks , be positive and move on Thanks Tracker for a worrying day

Firstly, well done on the post. Livened up Saturday arvo

Secondly, re the IP refresh bit:

  • If you are posting from work you are probably NATed and it would be your works IP that would have been logged, they may or may not have a static so "refreshing" ipconfig /release & renew (windows), if you're running Linux then you're no doubt way ahead of this anyway, won't really help as the external IP will remain the same. Your internal private IP will probably not change either cos you'll probably pick up the same IP lease anyway (and it's not hard for the admins on a remote web site to grab your private IP anyway as it's in the packets you send, otherwise how would the data replies make it back to you if you are one of may PCs on a LAN)
  • If you are dialup/ADSL then you may pick up the same IP again after a disconnect and reconnect, but at the least you will get an IP from the same block that the ISP uses and with extra Demonland work some evidence could be gathered, they will be able to see from what ISP you were connected from a relevant lookup, maybe not enough for the Demonland admins to determine unequivocally your ID but it may be enough for a good start. I know one ISP that has different blocks for different states. Also if your were doing bad stuff the ISP logs would give you away but law enforcement needs to get involved on that one and there's no law yet against posting funny stuff, yet
  • Finally, why would you want to change your IP unless you were going to log back in as another user? That is the interesting part, with many possibilities from you weren't going to right through to who were you going to log on as
Anyway

Cheers

Wow - on a footy gossip site, someone puts a speculative trade post - its gets comments - wow. That's hysterical. Really. No truly. takes brains - forethought, insight, intelligence.

If this livens up anyones life, then there is an assumption in that statement that is not being satisfied.

Secondly, re the IP refresh bit:

If I wanted to it wouldn't be hard to figure out what pool of IP addressess he is going to get his IP from and ban the lot from being used in registration for a few weeks. It wouldn't stop anyone already registered from posting, and it would keep out very few, if anyone else from registering other than this tool.

Personally though, I'm not that interested in chasing this goose around so he's going to be wasting his time 'refreshing his IP'. I'm looking forward to the next installment! :)

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
