Thrilled for him. That shoulder/collar-bone injury in '05 really put the brakes on what was shaping as a pretty exceptional career. Still a great of the club though. Onya Brucey.

Kicked his 200th goal a few weeks ago too. Love having midfielders with more goals than games. Had a great last month, and a great last 18 months actually. Back to some of his best, even if he is a very different player now compared to what he was in '05. With a couple more seasons who knows he might even make 250!

I couldn't think of a worse way to bring up a milestone game, playing against an angry bunch of pussycats down at the cattery.

He runs a marathon every week but must be happy to do what he did on Sunday and play off a HBF for his remaining years.

Good luck on Saturday...

Congrats to Cam on his 200th this weekend. He's been a good player for us, probably one of our best players for the decade. He cops alot of sh*t on here, most of it unjustified. His disposal has declined over the past 2 seasons, but he is still an important part of the team and has played many roles very successfully. He was magnificent 04-05. Not only before he got crunched by Guerra, but some of his tagging jobs on Hird and Brad Johnson, while booting bags of goals himself, were great footy.

Best of luck to him going forward.

Onya Brucey. A True Demon who loves the new direction the club is taking.

Really talked up Bailey in an interview yesterday.

This Club is Moving places & Brucey knows it.

Always liked Bruce and am very happy that he made it to 200 games. A good player and well respected.

You're absolutely right.

And on his kicking: my mates and I have joked about his helicopter punts from 2002 onwards. His kicking was like this pre-guerra, so I don't know what people are talking about.

Maybe it looks worse cause we've been crap for the past 30 months.

Bump. The players will be keen for a win here. Keep it clean and wish him well. Leave the sledging in the other thread. This is his tribute thread.

Congratulations to Cameron on his magnificent 200-game achievement!

He's been a great servant to the club this past decade and I know I personally have appreciated the way he's gone about his footy from day 1. Probably not the most talented and never the hardest player around, yet a magnificent reader of the play and exceptionally versatile. Unfairly wore the brunt of our own great expectations of him being 'the next James Hird', some years ago. Those lofty expectations meant many supporters were very disappointed with the player Cam finally developed into. A good honest player, go-anywhere type, capable of great things on his day, but ultimately no superstar. Not to mention his disposal tapering off over the last few seasons, which even further intensified the criticism directed toward him.

To come from where he has (missing those drafts in the late 90's, and built like a rake), and play 200 games and win a b&f is testament to his outstanding work ethic and attitude. I do think he cops more than his fair share from many fans, but only because we all wanted him to become something he never was able to be... a superstar of elite status; not just another good footballer with questionable kicking.

I'm not surprised he has said they want to win and that he wants to stick around for as long as another 5 years. The club is on the rise, and he obviously wants a part of it. Who wouldn't? Unfortunately, Cam's probably not part of our future success; he must know this deep down inside, and that is sad for him. But sometimes it's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Nonetheless, congratulations must go to Cameron on a fine career to date.

To make it to 200 games is a great achievement.

Like many I've been frustrated by Bruce's disposal in recent years and it's probably clouded my thoughts of him.

In fact, I did - somewhat naively - suggest to some colleagues in 2003 that he would win a brownlow.

PS. Doggo makes a good point regarding expectation. I think it's a similar story with many of the guys who cop the most flak on here (ie. Miller).

Congratulations Cameron. 200 games is an achievement to be respected whatever the circumstances.

Great stuff Cameron Bruce. Congrats of getting the most out of your career to date and it is a long way from finished.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
