I actually thought in the first two rounds Spencer gave us more in the centre than PJ did. I would have the order the other way because PJ is apparently one of the best 2nd rucks in the AFL. B)

Wow. You sound more and more like my Grandma. Only far more repetitive, and far less interesting...

PJ isn't a ruckman, but will play in the position, and now that he will likely have time, he'll rediscover his form of last year, and make a fool out of the fairweather supporters who so quickly forget how well he has played. Once he's relieved of the pressure of having to take the centre bounces for 4 quarters, he'll be able to slot in either end of the ground... like ANY GOOD SECOND RUCK and start having the impact he did less than twelve months ago.

Unless you believe the negative nancies who bleat on and on about how terrible he has been in a handful of matches... And who's solution is to get rid of the only genuine tall who's played every game so far this year.

Meniscus damage is really not that bad. Had the operation myself and haven't found any ongoing complications.

Jamar, Garland and now Meesen. Does anyone think this could be as a result of starting pre-season so much earlier last year?

I know the training staff monitor the players so well now, so maybe it is just bad luck. I also think the younger bodies (which is most of our list) will tire in the second half of the season due to the earlier start. All looks good for the priority pick though.

Shocking news for Meese but he at least got the chance to prove he is good enough to consider persisting with.

I have no doubt the dear lady thought similar of you and cursed that malignant gene that spoiled the family.

Right so "PJ isn't a ruckman" but "like ANY GOOD SECOND RUCK".....Flip flop flip flop. He cant ruck but is a good 2nd ruck.:lol:

PJ has shown that he cant slot in at either end as he rarely hurts oppositions up forward but also is unaccountable for the opposition ruckman going back. The only pressure he relieves in the centre would be if he took an overdue [censored] in the centre circle.

The fact is he has little or no impact in any spot on the ground after 7 years. He is 200cm jack of no trades.

The only reason he has played every game is due to the injury of other ruck options some of which are questionable in their own right. But guess PJ is 2nd fiddle to each ordinary ruckman in the Club. Says enough.

Why 'O Why??

Bad luck for the big Meese. He was finally getting his chance to show what he could do, finally getting a chance to grow and develop in the big league and then this happens. A sad setback for the big fella. Will be keen to see how he gets himself right for next year.

Big chance for Spencer now.

To make matters worse Aussie goes down for six weeks.

Arggghhhhhh.

another stress fracture in the foot, do we need to send all our players for scans to check if they've got hot spots?

He's put the gun in the holster and is slowly backing back. But one eye is trained on your forehead.
Lol slowly retreating alright. Fingers crossed Pj Spencer and Jamar can see out the year without any mishaps.

Terrible news for both of them and wish them both the best in their recovery, especially Meesen who really was starting to show something. Hopefully Spencer will be right to take his spot for sunday's match.

Do it - we're not challenging for the flag this year, so why ruin our chances in the upcoming years. Get them all right, so we don't cause long term problems.

Correct. At least we know what aussie can do and as other posters have mentioned it gives other players a chance to see if they can embrace their opportunity and show what they are made of

Disappointing for Meesen as he was showing some good signs in the ruck and around the ground and the rest of the season would have been good for his development. He is still quite young for a ruckman and plenty of players have recovered from stress fractures. I don't see the reason for the career gloom. On club level with 3 players on the Long Term Injury List we can test out some of our rookies.

Aussie's injury is in a way disappointing in that it means he will have missed half a season of development by the time he returns.

As well as losing a lot of the improved conditioning he gained during his exceptional pre-season.

I'm happy to put my hand up as one of the baggers of Meese last year but now I really think the kid can be something. Rotten luck for him just as he was starting to show glimpses of what he could do. All the best so I can see him again in the red and blue.

Hard luck to the mess who was really looking like he was starting to live up to some of the promise. Hardly career ending though I would have thought. Wish him a speedy recovery.

HOT OFF THE PRESS...

Abletts groin injury is worse then 1st thought, he may have a bout of the dreaded OP and likely to miss more footy then all are letting on. - From the same source as JW so don't take this as fact, but this scotty palmer type has a very high hit rate when it comes to this type of info, so watch this space.

To Insider, as promised here is my apology....I am sorry for doubting the veracity of your post.

Somebody must be breaking a lot of mirrors down at Casey during training

Get rid of Bohdan Babaczuk simple as that. When he was at the hawks they were riddled with injuries and he continued the "form" at the demons for the last couple of years.

Clearly being armed with the facts is not a pre requisite with you.

You have started your D'land life off a low base. See if you can improve.

Wona's injury is an opportunity for Maric to consolidate a place as a small forward. Hopefully, he can do that.

Meesen's injury appears to have no silver lining however.

Time for mr versatility (Stef Martin) to show us what he can do in the ruck. Could be a good temporary move, however I hear Spencer was only rested last week, not injured, could be a chance for a recall. Id give him a go. Nothing to lose this season.

And he wasn't even the OP :o

Well done Godemons. Breaking news about 12 hours before official confirmation. ;)

While I don't support an un-informed attack on a MFC employee, but Strawbsodwyer does have an underlying point and I hope the club is looking at this. 2 snr ruckmen both down with leg stress fractures before the 1/2way mark.

I hope it is nothing more then bad luck and preseason/training programs have not increased the risk to our big men.
