I refuse to blindly support every player regardless of how good they are. Sorry but I won't do it. We have had so many complete spuds running around forging long careers as footballers for a long time and that is why there is enough space in the trophy cabinet to park a cadillac. So far, Bailey is cutting them one by one and I praise him for doing so.

So you TOTALLY disagree? Explain yourself then

Welcome to the internet circa 2001. Every football messageboard has posters like you and have for years, so they simply don't tolerate the rubbish. It's that simple.

Most of this thread is about substituting Spencer for Jamar. I don't think it's as simple as that.

Presuming Meeson is not up to it (despite Bailey talking him up this week). It's about Jamar, Johnson and Spencer.

I don't dismiss Jamar as quickly as some; it was he who jumped into Sandilands all the afternoon of the "great comeback" last year (and had a great impact on the final result). We have no-one else who could do that. Johnson is a great athlete, a mobile ruck/forward who is big but plays well small; he is not a first pick ruck IMO. Spencer has shown a fair bit this year so far. I think there is room for all 3. Spencer might just have to bide his time for a few months; so be it.

i honestly have a feeling this isnt true.

thoe jamar isnt a great ruckam but they people go about sayin it is just complete rubbish.

saying spencers played 3 better games than jamar ever will is stupid, i hope hope its not the end of his career and i doubt it will be unless he doesnt play another game for the year.

That would never happen sunshine.

Brendan Gale and the players association would be so far up CC n DB's ass, they both wouldn't be able to sit for weeks.

Do you honestly think a player without many opportunities would defy the coach and demand to play and have a sook to the AFLPA about something like this? He would immediately be an enemy of the club then what does he do? What the coach says goes - it's always been that way and it always will!

i would to.

I actually blindly support every player, give them a chance because they play for the team I 'support', notice you username is a bit bland, assume you are hiding the fact that you are a non-potato who stood out in a long and successful career in the VFL/AFL, if you reveal yourself as such, then we can stand and admire, if not we can say you are rubbish.....coz it doesn't wound anybody does it...I have played the game, not at a very high level, and I was ordinary

Yes, and he is more than in his right to go the AFLPA, they are restriciting his licence to ply his trade. While he may be injured now, and only miss 3 or 4 weeks (as what has been previously reported) once his injury is over he is not allowed to play at any level until he is taken from the LTI, whether that be AFL or VFL, so they are restricting his ability to accept match payments and do his job.

While he may not be the best ruckman, and if his time is coming to an end at Melbourne, he should still be given the opportunity to play at either level.

In the Sydney game, the only one of Spencer I have seen I would have the two on par, both very competetive at the contest, but both with questionable skills (Spencer kicked into the man on the mark 2 or 3 times - which is unforgiveable at this level)

I ain't heard it yet Ds!

I like the russian, and when he recovers from his foot injury and plays like shite, then come rnd 11 [censored] him off to VFL and leave him there, same with meeson. Let Spencer join our group legit and without screwing someone else over, or do you all think we should be called Carlton?

How about [censored]?

From Bailey's talking on the MFC website, I would have thought that he is focussed on playing Meesen.

And before a player goes on the LTI, he must personally agree to going on the LTI. I cant think why Jamar would agree to go onto the LTI to let another player competing for his spot while he is injured for up to 8 weeks?

From Bailey's talking on the MFC website I'm thinking if Bailey had a choice between playing Meesen or eating a bowl of broken glass he would choose to play Meesen... JUST

As much as I don't think much of Jamar as a footballer it doesn't seem to be from lack of heart, just talent, and I hope he comes good asap. That said I'm happy to see Spencer get a shot at the big time and look foward to seeing him doing his bit for the red and blue.

Terrible news for Jamar, who for the first time in his career was poised to really grab a hold of that number one ruck position, but every challenge brings an opportunity.

Spencer getting promoted can only be a good thing for the future of our ruck division.

Terrible news for Jamar

Indeed. Thankfully, it's great news for the MFC and its supporters.

The decision to elevate Spencer says more about Meesen's capabilities than Jamar or Spencer.

So true, that would really rock any confidence you had in your abilities

I suspect Meesen will be packing his bags come EOS.and the Russian might be looking to further fields to renew his game. AL good for the MFC..as an overview..unpleasant I appreciate for the individuals. Its tough environment footy..such is life.

'Sauce' is pretty common internets usage.

That would make sense for most other posters, but I don't see Rhino as your typical forum geek with the associated 'speak'.

Am happy to wait a few more weeks before I start making that sort of call.

Very bad luck for Jamar, possibly very good luck for Spencer. Or a real opportunity for Meesen this weekend.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
