CARROLL DELISTED

Nathan Carroll is now gone, but let's remember he was a good key back for us for a period of time, when there was no one else.

I'm glad the matter has been resolved, but let's not all bag him. He got the best contract he could, who wouldnt.

Good luck to him and thanks for the service.

He will be remembered for that terrific tackle on Fraser Gehrig in the elimination final of 2006.

Perfect result for the MFC.

Seconded.

He was, for me at least, slightly maligned as a player (bearing in mind the irrefutable relationship between midfield performance and backline performance, and how dire our midfield has been post-2006), but off the field he was, as Rhino loves to put it, a cancer, and for that reason I doubt anyone will be upset to see the back of him.

Depends how much we had to pay out. We will probably never know. But definitely the right move to get rid of him. Actually I still believe that if he breached the terms of his contract we should not have to pay him at all, but I gather the AFLPA and his manager would never allow that to happen. Maybe the lawyers on this site can clarify this aspect for us. I know it has been discussed before, but I'm still foggy on this one.

Maybe..maybe not.

We may be ending with a bigger cost if legal fees are involved just from our side.

Its a good outcome and good riddance.

Yeah, I considered that but kept it to myself...

Another good decision by the new look MFC.

Good decisions so far(for those who still think nothing's changed)

1. Debt Demolition

2. Casey and the Fine tuning of Casey arrangemnent

3. Bubbledome on the way out

4. MFC - MCC relationship

5. Staff appointments

6. Delisting older players, focus on a youth led recovery

7. Honesty - that's right - we won't play finals next year - it's honest and it doesn't mean we're aiming for mediocrity as some seem to think

8. Demon Summit

9. The Demon and it's relevance

10. Carroll delisted

11. Brock made captain (well I hope so)

Who ever say's they haven't been busy is not looking

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
