I cant wait for this weekend just to see the greats of the game like Ablett, Selwood, Hawkins, Johnson and the other cats do there stuff. But also to have in the back of my mind that in a couple of years instead of those names it will be Watts, Jones, Morton, Wonna, Garland ect. I'm not really interested in the margin that geelong win by but more importantly the amount of experience our boys take from playing against such a good side. But for the sake of punt losing margin 70 points Gary Ablett possesions 50+ (3 goals) and 3 votes Hawkins Goals 4 Number of GOOD minutes played by MFC 120mins of competitive footy but will be outclassed by a better team

They got 28,315 to there first game so i think about 22,124 but with their round 1 crowd they had a huge marketing push to get people to the groud, so to only get 28,000 for the first round isnt that flash. I wouldnt be surprised if port adelaide gets close to droping out of the AFL because of financial reasons.

Just a quick article I saw on sportal http://sportal.com.au/AFL-news-display/rec...for-hawks-60326 Hopefully the Melbourne board can take note on how the Hawks have reinvented there club and take some encouragement out of it . Because Hawks were in a similar situation to us and look they now have a 4 million dollar profit and a premiership flag to go along side that. The article also reinforce how important it is for membership is to the clubs. Also I thought it was a smart idea how they published out some goals with their "five2fifty". I know we have debt demolition but maybe we could publish some of our long term goals both on and off the park? Any thoughts

Have multiple captains like Sydney or Brisbane that includes Brock because he's still to immature to be the sole captain next year and then if he does a good job then give him the captaincy by himself in 2010. Although Brock is leader on the ground he is still very much immature off field and doesnt set a great example like doing donuts in car-parks.

You cant get rid of Moloney he adds grunt and hardness that will hopefully be followed by our younger midfielders. Even though he is injury prone with a good pre-season and solid fitness base his natural talent and hardness will stand us in good stead for next year.

Deledio doesn't count he only went to CGS for a week if that before Richmond got him a tutor. But the APS is definitely one of the best competitions for future talent going around. This is clear with the amount of AFL scouts that go and watch each game.
