Those 12 players will be the base for the future success of the MFC just using them have a look at the line up

Bartram Garland

Petterd Rivers

Davey Mclean Morton

Bate Sylvia

Aussie

Jones Moloney

Maric, Grimes, Martin will get nominated add Watts and R Warnock all we are missing is another young key forward maybe Newton or pick 17/19

cale morton had 87% kicking effeincy while maric had 100%! both guns and i thought cales disposal was spot on! maric did not miss a target!

Maric came to us with the reputation of being the best kick in the 2007 draft. I'm enjoying watching him and particularly his kicking.

I still wouldn't totally rule out Jonathan Brown, from what I hear they're still sniffing & G. Lyon knows it very well (funny to watch his face every time it comes up on eg. Footy Classified)

[Moloney is the only player i know of that won a rising star and was traded. I didn't count him on Geelong's list, and I put him on our list.

Armstrong isn't on either list, From memory he won it in 2002. I have only counted since 2004.

I just had a look at the 2002 and 2003 rising stars. Hawks and Geelong feature heavily... you could argue that their current form is due largely to these nominated players hitting an optimum age. Project our nominated players forward a few years.... . you get the idea.]

Great work before2long.

Now that Jimmy, Gazza, Ox, Connelly, Barrass are spreading the word and even Caro and Vlad have positive things to say. Now that we have a very talented albeit inexperienced list. A list chock a block with rising stars. Now that our debt is heading South rather than North. Now that we have (by all reports) an excellent board , generations removed from the old pro merger, pro Gutnick and pro Szondy infighting. Now that we have a record membership.

Dont you think its time we all got together to spruik the Red and Blue? The Mighty DEES.

Congratulations to Cale......

A well earned reward for a great start to what we hope will be a wonderful career :D !!!

Knew this kid was the goods after watching him kick 2 or 3 classy goals against Adelaide in round 8.

Will sit in the same company as Flower, Neitz and Lyon by the end of his career.

congrats Cale.... you have been a delight to watch.

Very pleasing to see Cale Morton winning the nomination

Shows obvious CLASS even if mg64 cant see it

probably looking too hard at the negatives to notice

One of the positives this season has been 3 rising star nominations

Congrats to the kid on finally getting a nomination. Thoroughly deserved and I am very excited to see him develop.

The whole match was played at the intensity of a VFL 2nds game, so the 80% effeciency was hardly outstanding.

I'm hoping like hell that Morton becomes the elite player that we sadly need, but he does things that lack polish, and age can't excuse. I'm not surprised that he hasn't been nominated for the NAB Rising Star prior to this round.

Palmer and Morton are on a par with their foot disposal, but the difference is that Palmer is pretty much Freo's no. 1 on-baller, and is targeted by the opposition far more than Morton.

Bump. I'll admit I was wrong. Palmer actually has superior foot and hand disposal compared to Morton, especially under pressure.

And to all those Palmer knockers, he played at a level tonight that was way beyond anything that Morton has produced this year. The kid is an absolute gun.

I'll just be the first of many to (again) tell you that you are wrong. If you can't tell that Palmer's disposal is dodgy then there's no point arguing with you as you simply refuse to see it.

As for his game, Palmer is a good young player. He's a hard runner and I admire that. However he does so with a man's body already (he's heavier than Morton despite being 5 inches shorter) and he also torches the footy, especially by foot. This is near Palmer's peak, whilst Morton hasn't even got to base camp.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
