West Coast rest Kerr again!!! AND I WON $530...

West Coast are resting Kerr for this weeks game against the Tigers.

They state that Kerr needs a rest due to a couple of niggles including the stingray sting.Would they rest him if they were playing for a top 4 position??? Absolutely not!

We all know they're tanking for the no. 1 pick so today I placed $100 on Richmond under 39.5 points and it's paying $2.30 or $1.83 head to head.

A sure bet I think.

The last time I placed a "tanking bet" was round 22,2003. Melbourne were playing West Coast and if we won we'd lose our priority pick,pick 3,Colin Sylvia.There was no way we were going to win that match and lose the priority pick.I made $235 :lol:

So fellow Demonites,get down the TAB tomorrow and make a few $$$$$

I love how some people are saying "Worsfold has too much credibility to tank yadda yadda" when he's the same guy who put up with his players high out of their minds for several years.

We actually played (and lost to) Sydney in Round 22, 2003 but the principle sounds right. When Worsfold was interviewed on the news tonight he had a grin from ear to ear when he spoke of Kerr's woes.

much the same as us re Davey...

yes and no. we are building a new team and a new culture. bulls##t and dishonesty are clearly not tolerated. this i why i laughed when Carlton let Fev play after weeing in public . what a meassage to send to an impressionable young team. if we get Warnock, Naita then becomes a no brainer. the suspension of Davey will make us stronger

i read somewhere that we did a similar thing with Junior...

He could've got up for the Brisbane game, but he had some niggles so the club decided to give him a week off before the break to get his body right...

Absolutley...What Geelong did about Johnson paid big dividends for the club and the individual...they won a flag and he won a NormSmith...Carlton on the other hand show a much weaker culture. I know which track I want the Dees to take...

But im sure there are a few out there that dont mind that this makes it harder for us to win the game...much the same as what is being said about WC and Woosha..

You're correct,it was Sydney,i have West Coast on the brain at the moment.

A few weeks ago when WCE played the Bombers at the Dome,Kerr was a late withdrawal and watched the game from the stands,TANK.

The next game against Geelong at Subi,Kerr played because Geelong were going to win anyway,by 135 points!!!

So Kerr is rested against Essendon & Richmond.

I'm going back to the TAB tomorrow to put another $100 on Richmond to win over 39.5 points @ $7.30

Cats beat them by 135 points,Hawks beat them by 60 points.

They're trying to get their % under ours!

It is common knowledge throughout the nation that certain sides only want to win a select number of games this season.... We are certainly among them... But the difference between us and the other "tankers" is the fact that we have gone out and tried to win every game despite our horror start to the season.... Good can come of the wins that we achieve this season!

You can see the genuine excitement of the players when we have won our 2 games (2 of the best wins the club has had in decades IMHO) and it creates a hunger in the guts of the younger (impressionable) players....

Far more will be gained in 2008 for the future of this club, despite what a lot of outsiders think, from winning a couple more "unwinnable" games!

We are guaranteed to finish bottom 3 and with this will come a fantastic draft selection, regardless of who it is! But developing a hunger and a belief amongst our current juniors is IMHO more important! The top 3 draft pick and PSD selection will just be icing on the cake for the coaches!

DB is building an army.... And his troops are exceeding all expectations during basic training! :P

Pick 1 or 2 two in the draft i don't see much Difference. Jack Watts is a local boy who might play 200 games for us. Naita would always be a year by year proposition. (Scott Thompson) I don't mind the idea of winning a few more games. Winning breeds winners.

I think they may pinch #1 pick from us the way theyre going. Playing awful footy at the moment. And now resting they're star midfielder, Braun retiring, Cox possibly off for surgery on his foot later this year... Going to be a tough ask finishing lower than them with the spirit we've been showing!

I'm not usually so pessimistic, but will we honestly try to lose this match?

I wouldn't have thought that West Coast would be eligible for the 1st Draft pick anyway...

Maybe best the whole team hire a tour bus to go to these games, better to keep an eye on everyone!! Be terrible if it just drove round in the wilderness for a month !! By time it finds its way back to the G for the last round they'sdall be buggered.. Oh well..always next season eh!! :)

Honest mr Vlad...we werent tanking..in fact we didnt even know where the tank was...if we did we could have filled it up at the servo :P

Look at what Worsfold said in an article today.

West Coast coach John Worsfold has insisted he is not alarmed at the prospect of the Eagles claiming the club's first wooden spoon

Anchored in 15th position with a 2-12 record, the eagles have eight rounds, starting on Sunday against Richmond at Subiaco Oval to avoid the ignominy of being officially regarded as the worst team in the competition.

"No, not at all," Worsfold said when quizzed if he was concerned at finishing last.

I'm at the stage now where I really don't care where we finish as long as it is in the bottom 3. I would be just as happy with any of the 3 players you have mentioned.

I agree, and would like to finish 14th but hopefully with 4 wins, as the PP pick will still be ours.

It is absolutely crucial that we get a priority pick this year.

IMO Round 22 against Richmond is a certain victory given the amount of retirements that are on the cards, and given Richmond probably won't have anything to play for at that stage. And of course the game against West Coast will be the easiest win of the year given it's at the MCG and given West Coast are tanking themselves silly.

That leaves the Freo and Essendon games as the only danger matches, but at least we play Freo at Subi (and thank god we play Port at AAMI, where we haven't won a game since 1985).

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
