Was just watching before the bounce on fox and they were talking about Stynes and Billy said one thing he wanted to do was bring back the demon and do away with melbourne fc?

How does everyone feel about it?

Although i came to accept melbourne fc i think i would welcome back the demon logo with open arms and be known as the demons!

Definitely bring back the demon logo. I can understand what they were trying to achieve, but it was never a good move i think......

Well, I still thinks it's a storm in a teacup, but people do really seem to be pretty attached to the Demon.

That said - the basic insignia of red and blue is much more visable and recognizable, more easily included in any marketing campaign, and easier to include in packaging designs on merchandise. It's also possible to put slogans across the red and blue background for a bold effect.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still wearing my old gear (right now actually - that's a warm jumper they make) with the demon logo on it, and I love it. I'm also very attached to the title 'Demons' with all it's history - does anyone thing the Hawthorn coach cae out one day and said 'play like hawks', or Collingwood were called the Magpies for any reason other than it was the only black and white thing they could think of?

BUT - the demon logo is too complicated, with pieces, and faces, and stylisations. It simply doesn't do the job as a logo being immediately recognisable with instant impact.

Never lose the Demons from our heritage, damn right. But the simpler logo works for me, and I think it would be a waste to go through the process of yet another rebranding.

If we're so worried about identity, the absolutely... Better to have something than nothing.

Good.

I'm not sure who passed the MelbourneFC concept but taking the most image most easy to identify with the Melbourne Footy Club away and replacing it with a bland no soul MelbourneFC was kidding themselves.

Will ALWAYS be the Demons.

Whoever took that away from the MFC this year, no matter what the reason, I hope has been sacked!.

Yes bring it back for sure.

I specifically wear my old DEMONS beanie to all games I attend rather than my newer hat without that wording!

What do we all yell at each and every game we attend? ....... no more need be said!

DD, I agree with you. I have grown to like the MELBOURNEfc logo which is largely the blue with red v, the strongest image of our team - look how a demon image is so much less effective in the alternative strip (both current and past).. And we are also the demons! Look at the filth. They will not give up the b&w vert stripes for anything, but continue to be the maggies.

leave the logo...but change our name from melbournefc to MFC 1858

yes we are still the demons but there is nothing that i like more this year than our logo

the old logo looks very outdated

I too have grown accustomed to the logo, which is something I didn't expect when I first saw it. But we must bring back the demon. It's good for the kids to have that icon, like the mascot at the ground or in those comic things.

I have no problem with the club being Melbourne fc.. but the 'marketing ' is teh DEmon... thats what has to be pushed.. We are teh MFC who are the DEMONS !!The monicker Demosn at least instills some backbone, some ferocity..some.."something"... Melbourne fc just seems like a toffs smoking club really by comparison !!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
