Promising debut, nothing to make you sit up and take notice, but good none the less.

its pretty tough to look good in a side that loses by 75.

Sounds as though he is worthy of another game. Good test going against the Hawks this week.

Hang in there Dee Fans!!

Was alright. Threw his body in there and laid 6 tackles which was good. Will definitely play again next week you'd think. He looks to me like a Junior replacement. Will always work hard, lay lots of tackles, and be in the thick of the action getting the contested ball.

You sure do love your tackle stats.

I do, because I think it's important to put defensive pressure on the other team as it forces mistakes and gets you the ball. Players need to work hard both ways, not just one way. It's our number 1 fault this year, even more so than skills. Players who dont defend and tackle as well as attack have no part in the team.

Aaron Davey set that standard a few years ago. Now every team has small forwards tackling like madmen and Davey barely does it anymore :(

I thought he had a great game for a first gamer. Got plenty of the ball (as much as you can when ya getting belted) used it well and didn't really show signs of nerves. Gice all the kids a go.

Seen him heaps at Sandy, and so know how he played there. Thought his defensive pressure was great, but off the ball struggled somewhat with keeping up with his opponents when they were rebounding up the ground, as the Crows do in numbers so quickly. This was my perspective from being at the game, so not just what you see on TV. Having said that, seemed to run out all 4 quarters reasonably well so looks like his motor will be big enough for AFL standard...

He definately had a dip so he is worth perservering with. Too early to tell if he has the goods to be a good AFL player yet.

One of Shane's hard tackles resulted directly in a goal yesterday!

He is definitely worth giving more games to. We need another hard nut in the middle to held Brock and Jonesy out (latter taking much to much of the load at moment) and we need a replacement for Junior (maybe another year left?). Showed enough yesteday definitely

It's a bit unfair to say that Jones is taking much of the load at the moment. He's been tagged once all year, and he picked up 4 possessions. Brock cops the hardest tag every week, he is the one who needs the most support.

valenti did seem to make the grade between him and morton there skill level is so far superior to the older players it makes you wonder what the hell have the old dudes been doing at training..did a millimeter pass tha resulted in a goal and another couple of great passes on the run he will get there just undersized strength wise but seems to have the skill and knowledge required.. quite exciting really..

Best 10 disposal game i've ever seen.

Inducted into the exclusive 'kick a point with his first kick' club.

I liked what i saw in him, best thing about the young blokes is that they are going to improve, How about Cale Morton that kid has potential champ written all over him

Tends to reveal how many tackles someone had.

Just quietly.

Valenti played just over an hour, went well. Quicker than he looks. Tiny though.

Agree! And really he's not all that short! What - about 177cm? About the same height as Aaron Davey (but about 6 to 8 kg heavier).

What I like about Valenti is his brain, he appears to have a high football IQ, and that's something many of our players seem to lack.

Davey is short. Valenti is short.

They are probably not short walking down Chapel St, but they are short walking down the race.

thin lol anyone ever remeber robbie flower or tuck,,, how about stephan tingay lol stinga was tiny at the start then look what happened..

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
