  1. Maybe Glenn read your post and plagiarised it!
  2. LOL. Oops! Wondered why it didn't show up in the milkshake thread! Don't mind me! Thanks for setting me straight, Ethan!
  3. Any indication he's shown up at the Club yet? There's media coverage re the bods at Essendon, St Kilda & Port, but nothing about our boy. Would have hoped he was keen to put in an appearance and hit the ground running. Anyone heard anything?
  4. Back in the day, the VFA seemed to be the poor cousin of the VFL, hanging around on the fringes, and just a bit different, and one of its peculiarities was the 16 a side thingy. Don't think I'd be too thrilled at this VFA throw-back being reincarnated in the AFL...! (But, I'm just an old fart, so what would I know...??)
  5. Yep. Always good to see our guys in the news for the right reasons. A lot of the guys seem to do a lot for the community, and they should be commended for it. Well done, Nev!
  6. Was great to see Fitzy slot that goal from long distance. He's had a long, hard road, and I'm thrilled for him that he's been given another chance. Just hope he gets to now play in September! Would be great reward for perseverance.
  7. This has to rank among the best posts I've ever read on Demonland! VERY clever! (And, from where I sit, very true! LOL)
  8. Wattsy's last Qtr wasn't bad, either. Responsible for both of Tyson's goals.
  9. Absolutely! Was very composed in his play today, and really looked like he belonged.
  10. Could almost believe big Maxy deliberately missed that final set shot after the siren just to produce the ultimate anti-climax! Gotta love the big guy! GREAT WIN!!
  11. I'm calling it early. He'll kick a lazy 5 -- including the winning goal after the siren from just outside the 50, on the boundary. Get's the Rising Star nomination as well. Okay. I'm only dreaming...! (Just don't wake me up!!)
  12. Jack Watts made a similar comment in his Press Conference today. When asked if he's spending more time reading the papers these days, his response was something to the effect of "Absolutely not! When the media are building up the positives, they go way over the top, and when they are attacking your lows, they again exaggerate the reality"
  13. Two of our three Father-Son lads are going very nicely at the moment. And, from all reports, sounds like the third (young Smithy) is also showing some early signs of blossoming over time. Nice to see!
  14. Large parts of that game last night were so reminiscent of our game last week against the Weagles. The Doggies constantly bombarded the forward 50 for no result. Then, the Cats just strolled down the other end for an easy goal. So frustrating! Really felt for the Doggies, and SOOO wanted them to get up. Wasn't to be.
  15. Congratulations Tom! Put the cherry on top with a nice win over the GC, with you holding Lynchy goal-less in the process! (Just hope Oscar doesn't miss the game, and gets up to be able to share the special game with you.)
  16. Mono, that is the most sensible thing written on this whole thread! Well done!
  17. Loved Greg Parke! Our blonde copper directing traffic at CHF -- with Rossie Dillon slotting them from Full Forward! Those were the days!!
  18. Thanks, Pitmaster. I always love the training reports. They have been few and far between of late, and I miss them! So, thanks for taking the time and effort. Greatly appreciated!
  19. Thrilled about this. So nice to see someone who has been so maligned for so long stick it up his detractors, and do the #4 of the MFC proud! And, I reckon his best is yet to come. He's 25, in his prime, and ready to be a major part in our rise over the next few years! This guy has both the talent and the character to become the super star we always wanted him to be, and we are now starting to see more and more glimpses with each passing week. He deserves to be successful, and the member of a successful club. Go Jack!
  20. So, a season and a half after we probably expected it, Gus & his good mate, Petracca will FINALLY get to run out together in the big time. No doubt, they will both be pumped! They now need to make it even more special with a win!
  21. I'm thrilled for Jack. His first game of the season. The pressure must have been immense on him to perform. And, he stepped up to the plate beautifully. Couldn't have asked any more of him! Well done!
  22. Hmm. Putting doubts into an old, senile mind, now JJC! LOL I must admit I reckon I recall Danny using the drop kick on frequent occasions. But, I could be wrong. Can anyone (with a little clearer memory) help us out?
  23. Mono there was a more recent exponent of the art. Danny Hughes used to use the drop kick out of full back with great aplomb. Think he was pretty much the last guy at the MFC to use it.
