  1. Love it! While we're on a trivial note, I see 10 of our 22 have first names starting with "J". Add to that "J"amar, and fully half our team are "J"s. Significance? Absolutely none. Just thought I'd throw it out there. On a serious note, I reckon, on paper, that's a pretty good side -- at least heaps of potential. Kinda feel the three emergencies are all stiff to miss out, as is Cheney. And, given the number of walk-up starters who are missing due to injury, there is definitely a healthy competition for the spots. Now, just to turn all that potential into some winning form! Go dees!
  2. Forget to put your tips in...??!!! Me thinks that might be the tipsters' version of tanking! LOL
  3. Good news, Dr!! As I've joined, you'll now get to be SECOND last...! lol
  4. I'm really hoping Beamer will have an outstanding, injury-free season, leading from the front in the mid-field, and will put his hand up at the end of the season as our logical next captain. The guy absolutely loves the red & blue (has done so all his life), and is already an acknowledged leader at the club. Mind you, I wouldn't be too upset if either Davey or Rivers got the nod, either, as it would mean they had a standout season 2010. But, Beamer's my sentimental favourite for the job at the moment...
  5. And Jones at Full-Back! Love it! (Maybe someone should tell the powers at be "tanking" is over...!) LOL
  6. It would truly be a wonderful, albeit unexpected, bonus if Daniel could have a successful year. He's been around the club a long time, so is now one of the "senior" players in the group. Can't question his heart. And, to "do it for Troy" would, indeed, be a nice touch. I, for one, wish Daniel all the very best for a great 2010 in the red & blue...
  7. Great stuff!! Thanks for the link. I'm excited!!
  8. Yeah. Back then, from memory, it seemed like just about every time he ran out on the park for us, he'd be injured by game's end. But, wow, while he was out there he gave us plenty to get excited about. The guy's enthusiasm couldn't be faulted. Fear was that he'd end up getting himself killed, the way he threw himself into the fray with reckless abandon. Had to love him! Can't say I was ever too envious of his ice bath routine, either! lol
  9. Nah! Once he becomes the big, menacing, centre half forward we are all hoping for, he should be called "KILLER" WATTS! lol
  10. No problem, Andy. Just glad you got it sorted.
  11. Thanks for the nice words, Deanox. But, I can't take the credit. Didn't receive the Royal Nod on this occasion. Seems someone else has has kindly stepped into the breach. So, I'll just wait in the wings and be ready to help if the need arises again. Just looking forward to a few great seasons from the Mighty Dees! Cheers!
  12. Hi Andy. I've been a die-hard Dees fan all my 56 years. I've gained substantial enjoyment from reading the various posts in recent years. As I live on the Gold Coast, I treasure the training updates etc that are provided on your site. I therefore would hate to see its demise. I do, however, have a possible solution for you. I am part-owner of a webhosting company. I just spoke to the senior partner, and he is agreeable to hosting the site free of charge. (We may just ask for a link on Demonland to one of our own business sites as some form of quasi-sponsorship of the site.) So, if you are interested, send me an email with your contact details. [email protected] Cheers! Bruce G.
  13. Hey, Swampy! Well done! You must be as old as me! (Poor guy! LOL) I was starting to think I was alone on this one! Really enjoyed those hits, "Master Jack" & "Mr Nico". Not only were none of the group actually named "Jack", I think over time there were something like a total of about 19 guys in the group! Enough to make a footy team! Anyway, it's the Dee four Jacks that I'm rather excited about (along with Sylvia, of course! Ha!) Looking forward to some more glory days of the Mighty Dees!
  14. Howdy all. After the events of yesterday's draft, that old Sixties South African pop group "Four Jacks and a Jill" came to mind. (Yeah. Sorry. I'm showing my age! lol) The Dees now have a similar band of their own -- "Four Jacks and a Sylvia"! Here's hoping they take the Dees to the top of the footy charts!
