Stick fat fella. My information contradicts yours, but I don't doubt you posted with the best intentions and confident it was happening. Some posters battle at life. Their existence doesn't facilitate access to successful people. The fact you have contacts in the footy industry is bewildering to them. Don't let the opinions of nuffies get you down.24 points

My take on the events that occurred & what will happen: - Lewis goes for meeting expecting one thing and then being told to look at other options. - Lewis approaches Melbourne and a deal is worked out- Hawthorn then decide to back flip due to Mitchell 100% leaving. - Lewis becomes annoyed with the Hawks as they told him to look elsewhere, then once he had made up his mind they said no. - Pickering speaks to the Hawks to advise Lewis still wants to leave. Hawks realise what has occurred and advise they will get the deal done, however it needs to be less public regarding the conflict to appease the majority of members- Pickering comes out saying Lewis isn't angry but they are looking at options. - Monday/Tuesday Lewis will be traded, along with a press conference about how he felt he needed a fresh start and there was no bad blood between himself and the club. - 5 years time- Lewis is on the show 'On the Couch' with Mike Sheahan to discuss what 'really' went down.22 points

I know it's been said but I can't resist adding to the chorus of thanks to Paul Roos and Peter Jackson for making our club relevant again. It's running like a well oiled machine and that's just bloody sensational. Buckle up, folks. This is happening.21 points

You're a smart guy, I don't mind anyone putting the math together, as I gave the deduction. I stand by what I was told 24 hours ago, I stand by telling my fellow demon supporters and I stand by telling fellow football supporters but also doubters. The mail I got as of yesterday morning Victorian time is that an agreement hastbeen in place for Melbourne to acquire Tom Rockliff. I don't get a prize out of posting it, I dont win any money. I'm a fellow demon supporter who regularly posts on demon land, posting info I got. I genuinely do not want to upset/invigorate anyone the wrong way, I'm just spreading info as I got it.20 points

So let me get this straight.. Hawks initially try to push Lewis out.. They then lose Mitchell to West Coast (for pick 88). Do a backflip on the Lewis deal to us. Announce to the media that he's a required player. Then Clarko flies up to G.C to comfort Jager & reassure him he will be a Hawk. Then attempts to push Lewis into a deal, which would see him go to the Suns.. So Lewis tells Clarko & Hawks to shove it up their backsides, because he wants to be a Dee! ... Is that right ?? Cause if it is... Lewis would be absolutely filthy with the Hawks. I think they've become too arrogant for their own good.18 points

Verrrrrrrry Interesting: A number of posters with an excellent track record of info have quite diverse insights from respective sources: Generation Dee - trade in pipeline, working out the finer details. gwsampso - wouldn't be surprised if we get him dr dee - who registered today to tell us we haven't spoken to him...in a way that is kinda persuasive. Chook in Perth - he ain't coming Abe - said he was aware of a trade not unlike that Gen Dee outlined but different picks involved. Where is @Harbinger43 he usually has good intel! Apologies if I missed any others. Well, I'm confused Some of you will need to give your sources a jolly good talking to! But seriously, thanks for continuing to post what you hear- if nothing else makes for great entertainment~16 points

This thread is essentially the reality tv of sport. I realise much of it is probably total b.s. but I can't get enough of it.16 points

He put himself there though. If he'd nominated a club with better picks and less salary cap pressure, he wouldn't be in this position. It's a situation at least partly of his own doing. I don't feel sad for him at all.15 points

Hearing reasonably strong word around the traps that Jack Grimes is attracting the interest of Richmond, Brisbane, Essendon and Carlton as a delisted free agent. really hope he gets another opportunity at AFL level, top bloke and gives it his all13 points

How about the cheek of Hawthorn to offer him up as part of the O'Meara trade? Lol. I've wondered if this was some mad genius at play from them, but I'm pretty convinced now that it's just regular madness.12 points

I love all that WJ does woth this site, and I don't want to push the wrong buttons, but yes. I alluded to the references, WJ named them. I then tried to make a light hearted joke about it, as to be honest, my identity is hardly a secret naming it. That said, I can see why plenty of posters stop posting info. Some of the vitriol on here hasn't been ideal. Anyway what happens happens12 points

In nautical speak: Term:Rock bound (adj) Definition:Describing an ocean shore that has no beach but is fronted by stone cliffs and faces. In bird speak: Tom t!t is a shortened version of 'Tom titmouse', which is an old English folk name for the common UK garden visitor, the blue t!t. - Tom Rockliff is known to be a t!t. (wings, obvs) In butter speak: This is a Tom Knife It can be used to spread butter or your guts over everything. It's Tom Rockliff. My work here is done.11 points

If reports are correct Lewis has been treated shabbily by Clarkson and they are now trying to redeem themselves. Like other clubs' champs he wants to play on beyond 1 year. If mfc treated Nathan with disrespect and as a result in his heart he felt he could no longer wear the red and blue, then yes I would want mfc to accept pick 70. Nathan has earnt the right to go elsewhere under similar distasteful circumstances, even more so than Lewis who has 4 premiership medals for his work. For me it is not about age, it is about respecting a champion of the club. Look at Geelong - they have let all their champions get to where they wanted to go: Chapman to Ess, pick 84. Hunt to Giants, pick 75. Podsiadly to Crows, pick 64. Johnson to Giants a future (2016) 5th round pick. Love your work Macca but on this one I see it differently to your good self. Having said all that I'm not too fussed what pick he goes for as long as mfc end up with the players they want to balance our list by the end of the draft. Edit: just saw your next post. Pick 48 might be very valuable to Hawks to weave into the trade for O'Meara. Doubt they would take 48 to the draft.11 points

In my view it is not important that we draft more kids this year and next. As has been shown we have a young list and more so a young best 22.The focus needs to be on how do you accelerate their development and create as much surety that 8-10 of our under 23 become elite or true A grade players. Unlike most other clubs their is a bunch of players with these traits already on our list (granted you can always have more). Supporting them with quality mature players in Hibberd back, Lewis midfield and Rockliff forward/mid is a good place to start. We still need some outside run and a forward/ruck but I think we have seen enough of Jason Taylor to know that he will pick some gold out of the draft to focus on these needs.11 points

I have never bounced between threads on DL so often as I have in the last 7 days... The thought of having a midfield that possibly consists of Jones Viney Tyson Lewis Rockliff With the below rotating through Vince Oliver Petracca Brayshaw Gives me goosebumps!!! If this scenario eventuates I will be a happy man... and I am sure I will not be alone in this feeling of joy10 points

No way! He'll be turning things over in his mind all weekend. Things like: "Me and Sam were the only contested ball guys. Who's going to do it now? Do they expect me to take the whole load? Or is Clarko going to revamp the game plan again, to take even more emphasis off contested ball? "Or do they expect me to just start from scratch working with this other Mitchell (who's nowhere near as good as Sam) plus a guy who's not played for two years? And with a whole lot less pay than either of them? It's like I'm having to teach them to take my place while on half their pay! If I'm going to have to start from scratch with different mids, I'm better off to do it with that team that smashed us in contested ball. And for a reasonable wage! "And what if I stay and it doesn't work out with Mitchell-2 and the other guy? Clarko won't dump them, that's for sure! So I'm stuffed. "But what if it DOES work out well? Clarko will just say, "Well, Lewy, these guys are going great!! I guess we don't need you now!" So I'm stuffed after next year, however it goes! There's actually no upside in staying! "What about me with the Dees and their young midfield? If it goes well, they'll want me to stay for another couple of years for sure. And if it doesn't work, they'll still want me to hang around to help them improve. Either way, I can't lose! "So what's it like for Crossy? He's still highly respected at the Dogs, and now he's highly respected at two clubs, so that's likely to happen to me (and to Sam, come to think of it). And he's preferred to stay on here, rather than go back to the Dogs, even though they've just won the big one. Crossy's not a fool!" Not a difficult decision, the more he thinks about it. It's cold hard logic, not anger, that will push him to make the move. It's anti-logical for him to stay at Hawks.10 points

I just was Facebook messaging the Facebook page - Zanotti Files. He posted a rumour and was very adamant that his sources were correct in saying Rockliff will be a demon. Read what you like from it.. Posted the pics on Might Dees fb group but the screenshots I took are too big to upload so I'll just copy the convo in here Me: Hey Zanotti. What are your thoughts on the Rockliff to Melbourne situation? Zanotti: From our source it's almost done. Lions paying portion of his salary The only stumbling block will be if a team swoops in late to pay his full salary and he agrees to go. Me: Ok. Mark Robinson tweeted earlier that he hadn't heard anything. The original rumour came from DemonLand (Melb forum site), and the poster claimed it had come out of the mouth of his uncle who is apparently very close with David Noble, who supposedly said it himself. If you don't mind me asking, who are your sources? Zanotti: Can't reveal exactly who but it comes from inside Melbourne's 4 walls. Me: If you had to call it now, do you reckon it'll happen he then forwarded me a message that supposedly was from his sources Zanotti: Just don't release the info until maybe tomorrow morning? Because although Lewis is 100%, Rocky is about 99.99%. I think for the pages sake, wait until tomorrow when rumours start flying around. But in the end, you're call! Me: when did you receive the info? Zanotti: today. Getting an update tomorrow Me: how have you had access to these sources? Zanotti: I'm just someone that luckily has stumbled across some people in the right places. I then went on about how it could be big for him if he's right, but backlash if he's wrong. He then said - Zanotti: Haha.. we get the info and pass it on. Had Mitchell and Lewis spot on. Considering the source we have we'll at least get an explanation if it falls over.. Comes with the territory though! take what you want from it guys...9 points

I'm getting burnt to a crisp in Bali on my honeymoon and couldn't thank you enough to all the posters contributing to this thread with rumours, whispers, possible trade deals and draft pick possibilities - no matter what happens I've loved the entertainment and the hope that this period brings. The last few years I've felt desperate during this period for news of a star joining us but it's always felt a bit far fetched with where our team was at. But we now have a solid core group of professional and talented players that are set on a journey towards some form of growth and success that I can believe in the possibility of A grade players joining us to make the team even better. Cant wait to see what the next few days brings. I remember when there was a heap of speculation about the possibility of Paul Roos joining us and to me it just felt right. All the talk of Dangerfield / Parker / Treloar / Kennedy / Shuey over the past few years never felt real enough to me but this time around - with Lewis, Rocky and Hibberd - it feels like a real possibility and hope the Dees can pull it off. In Taylor / Mahoney / Goodwin we trust!9 points

I'm far from convinced Rockliff will become a Dee, but I also see no point publicly calling a poster a liar when I simply don't know their intentions. So I'll assume they believe what they say, but I also won't be invested in the information. Naturally, others can please themselves.9 points

Joel Smith could be a star and may well take the Frost role. He's as fast with an incredible leap. A tad shorter, but he plays tall. I can see Smith being a staple in defence next year if he has a big summer.7 points
