But as our old mate Titus says: Titus O'Reily @TitusOReily 14 mins14 minutes ago Unfortunately, we don't know what type of drug Sam Mitchell was pretending to inject. #AFLHawksDons16 points

Please, we got Brayshaw as compensation. No need to be bitter.9 points

Its offensive to James Hird that Mitchell pretend to inject his arm, though perfectly fine for him to inject his players 1000s of times. You are a muppet Hird.8 points

Why are people still discussing Garland? Has this just been dismissed as patently false? It's massive if there's even a skerrick of truth to the rumour . . . A 24 y/o rejects a seven year contract at over 7million dollars in favour of a five year deal a year and a half out from the end of his current contract with free agency looming. With COLA coming to an end what could Sydney possibly be paying him? Has Roosy spooked his old club with a gambit to pry someone else loose? Noted that Malthouse on SEN picked out Brayshaw as something special in amongst the usual talk by the other commentators of how good the Dogs, St Kilda, the Tigers are going to be in the next three years. Mick picked out MFC as a team to look out for largely based on Brayshaw, Hogan etc.5 points

I understand what you are saying - we have seen these types before - but VDB for me thus far has shown some extreme influence on a number of occassions, what he has done is not 'flash in the pan' stuff. It might be a bit early but I reckon he's a bit of a goer. The main thing is that he plays with the hard-as-nails attitude that Jones, Vince, Brayshaw, Viney, Dawes, Dunn, McDonald, Hogan and Cross play with.. this is the attitude that takes us to the next level. We have had others in the past with the attitude but not the ability (eg Magner) but I'm thinking vandemon isn't one of these5 points

I love how in the Garland article it says we've been hit the hardest by free agency. Whatever mate. Last two years: Vince for Sylvia. Brayshaw for Frawley. Cross and Riley for nothing at all. Sam Blease off to run around in the VFL for Geelong. Definitely winning at losing our players.5 points

I'm not opposed to going after big names but have absolutely zero interest in Danger. I reckon despite all that he has said that he will leave for money, not team success, etc. He is (in my eyes) a selfish player who loves the spotlight, I don't think he plays for the team or shows much leadership. Individually he is brilliant but I'd rather a Luke Parker type for much less money. Since Brayshaw has come along and with Petracca coming in next year I have less concerns with getting a star in. I think we should try build a Sydney-like midfield, not one with a player on 1 mil a year. We will need to be giving Hogan a mil a year too when his contract runs out.5 points

I'm still convinced Roosy and co. were cooking up something re. Sydney last year before the AFL nixed their player-trades and we suddenly shopped Trengove out for a first-round pick. Just not sure what we might have been interested in in that section of the draft. Or maybe Roos just gets a kick out of trolling Collis - Perris, Dew, Heeney & maybe now Hannerbery. Though he does tend to compliment Kennedy every chance he gets.4 points

Just watched the game again. How disgusting is the cowardly bump Cam Guthrie lays from behind on Jetta as retaliation for Jetta's shepherd. On that, how pathetic was Healy's attempt at justifying the bump. Healy, weak as [censored]4 points

Dangers been gone for months imo, as soon as a bloke puts talks off to me that means they are 80% going, sometimes like with Rance there are circumstances that the public doesn't always know about but as a general rule it's a good indication, blokes should just admit it mid season imo3 points

The way I see it, the Tribunal members were aware of the standard of proof they were required to apply but they are all so enmeshed in the ways of our criminal justice system that they simply got it wrong and ended up applying a far more rigorous standard than mere "comfortable satisfaction". Now that the case will be reheard in its entirety, it remains to be seen whether the CAS panel takes the same view. I doubt it. I also believe that WADA will prosecute the case differently and if the rogues gallery of witnesses refuse to give evidence or are not called by the players' advocates, there may be some inferences drawn that might not bode well for the players.3 points

no they don't. And you'd know that they don't. So you are lying. I'm sure you are not ignorant. That leaves lying as the only alternative.Just baffled as to why. Many players do exactly what Goodes does onfield (boomer harvey for one) and NEVER get booed. You can point to dozens of sneaky snipers, precious umpire pets, or self-important tools and the truth is that they don't get booed at games or across games. It is a shocking argument - it is not even an argument, it is just a shameful rationalisation - a defence - of racist behaviour. It is gutless and horrid and should be rejected out of hand. This is so clearly a racial issue. Those that deny it (and I mean all if you) cannot all be ignorant to the sort of social psych pressures that lead to racist behaviour, cannot be ignorant to the 'cultural' racism inherent in white australia and the growing tolerance for racist attitudes over the last 10 years. It is utterly implausible. Actually, when you add up all those effects, the null hypothesis is that booing is racist it becomes your job to disprove it. All the forces at work make racist motivations the most likely state. Your job is to prove it isn't. And you can't. Lot's of players are unpleasant or easy to dislike. They don't get booed. Goodes does. Join the dots and man up the lot of you.3 points

I think it's time to write young Zac off. The fact that his brother is with us makes a nice romantic story but the fact that he's re-signed with the Swans suggests he's happy there, Melbourne hasn't shown any significant interest or both. There's no reason to think that just because we have one brother, it's essential to have another any more than a number of fringe midfielders on the lists of other clubs.3 points

I have to confess that I lost interest in Patrick Dangerfield long ago in light of the fact that every man and his dog thinks his most likely destination next year is in Geelong where he can be close to the family and, at the same time, collect the big dollars being offered to him. There are a couple of others on the Cats' radar as well including Scott Selwood who would also make a good get for us. They're well placed to get heavily involved in buying players because of the massive gaps about to become available in their list with a number of impending retirements. I wouldn't be averse to giving it a go myself - the two players would be 26 at the start of next season and would add to the maturity of our list and deliver us the midfield we've been dreaming about for a long time.3 points

DD, a father of 2 Xavier boys. One was in Matt's year & the other Dan's. No 2 son was on the phone to Dan yesterday. Perhaps, I shouldn't have posted such first hand info, but to be honest, you just get so annoyed at some of the rubbish that gets written on theses forums. I try to keep factual which is why I am a low volume poster.3 points

I hold no grudge for him leaving Interestingly he sat behind me during the queens bday match. Either he still has a soft spot for the dees or he came to support Daniher. I respect him for coming3 points

Roos job was always to come in and lay a foundation so another coach would take over a group that was over the past and ready to become a serious AFL team, we hired him to take the hits that a coach without his reputation couldn't withstand, and he is clearly the best person to help us build a core that could one day result in a premiership.3 points

Throw in JESse and angUS in to the mix and you have Jesus Hoganshaw. In years to come, it will be the footballing equivalent of caught Marsh, bowled Lillee; kicked Brayshaw, marked Hogan.3 points

Yes they could be forced to make picks before us, but those kids are never going to come to MFC anyway. So we might get pushed down the order, but the same kids will still be available to us (we won't have any stolen away from us).2 points

I am a really big fan of the way it's happened to be honest, if you look at the bulldogs, Macca taught them honest one on one contested football, built and developed what looks like a seriously good list and then Bevo takes over and adds some attacking flair to it and suddenly they're flying. I really expect by the end of Roos time we will be pushing for the 8, have a list that looks seriously dangerous and Goody will add that attacking flair to the ingrained defensive habits Roos taught them, i do think for the reason you mentioned that Roosy will want to hang around in some capacity2 points

I don't buy too much into the 'mental scars' thing.. because Nathan Jones makes the point moot... BUT if ever there was a poster boy for mental scars it's Garland, you can see it in his face when he plays footy. I'm not necessarily seeing him part of the Jones/Vince/Hogan/Brayshaw/Viney/McDonald type attitude that represents the club we are rebuilding2 points

I would argue the players are far more responsible for this than Roosy, there is a clock at the bench, the players coming on and off didn't communicate the time, and even if they didn't surely someone would have overheard a saints runner at some stage. and Oxley, the players were bombing it long and high and the forwards weren't making a contest, so the mids didn't lower their eyes, and the forwards didn't split the high balls to 50/50's which they could easily have done. these things are more of a reflection of our inexperience, i mean even Jones and Dunn are only recently leaders really, everyone needs to have things like this happen to learn, but all in all Roos is improving the players and building a nice little core group of players. I think Lloyd being a former player should have realised that, Roos can't call a time out or do anything more than what he did in the saints game, and the pies game, he can't contest the high balls the forwards didn't get too2 points
