  1. "black and white..." Hmm lets think about this. Title of a famous song by Michael Jackson who was also black and white. Michael Jackson was born on the 29th of August 1958... 29/8/1958... 2+9+8+1+9+5+8 = 42 42 divided by 2 = 21. 21 was the number Tom Mitchell drafted. 21, Adele's album titled 21 outsold Michael Jackson's Thriller album in 2011. 2011 was the year Tom Mitchell was drafted. The same album also has several world records, Mitchell has a record 64 possessions. Possessions, red heads don't possess souls. Adele has red hair, so does Tom Mitchell. So, I'm fairly certain we are targeting Michael Jackson, Tom Mitchell or as an outside chance Adele.

  2. I would just like to say at this point that Jack has been demonstrably loyal to the club over the years.

  3. I have it on good authority that the MFC are shopping Jack Watts around, with Adelaide and Gold Coast the leading contenders. I cannot believe we are seriously considering trading Jack. If the MFC could properly develop Jack he will be an out and out A Grader. Jack needs to be locked inside a gym for the whole of pre-season and force feed to build his frame. The only thing Jack needs to be a gun is muscle and strength. He has elite skills and elite vision. He needs to be up around the 98 kg mark and he will dominate games as a key mobile forward. I also have it on good authority that he doesn't want to be traded and that he wants to stay a Demon, unlike others. As such we need to keep players that actually want to stay at the club, as this may prove difficult moving forward. I will be furious if we trade Jack against his will when it's been our fault that we haven't been able to properly develop him to his optimum.

  8. Roosy before it was announced but I kept my mouth shut. McLean to Carlton, big whoop. A bit of social / personal stuff that would just get deleted on here but plenty of it eventually gets alluded to in the media. Quite a few things before 2012, but I forget what they were, that's not a cop out, I went code blue a couple of times in intensive care in 2012 and my once excellent memory has been [censored] since. Got the Judd one very wrong, I remember that. I'm just adding to hope after I recieved the message. I'd like you all to be as crushed and disappointed as me if it doesn't happen. But I really am excited.

  9. Rob loved days like today. He probably would have thought it a tad hot for footy, but would have played and dominated, anyway. His greatest pastime on days like to day would be cooking a BBQ for family and friends, playing golf, or on his boat catching a few "Flatties" and maybe the odd "Schnapper" in Port Phillip bay, or just shooting the breeze on his sundeck at Sorrento. Rob was at his happiest when you were happy, it seemed as if by some magical formula he had the "knack" of making you feel as if you were the most important person at that moment he was speaking to you. He loved his family and he loved and valued his friends! Charismatic people have this gift. Some use it for gain, and power, Rob used his charisma because he was genuinely interested in you and your family. Yes Rob was a "Superstar" footballer Bernie Quinlan so rightly said yesterday. But Above and Beyond he was a "Mega Superstar" person! Is this not a better, more substantially satisfying legacy to leave? In private life he was a generous with his time and expertise, as he appeared in public life. I have seen and been lucky enough to witness the way he gently and compassionately met people who at the conclusion of an interaction walked away much happier for the experience. Floating on air is as real as an experienceI have seen and been a part of, and just as euphoric! Just ask any who met him and knew him. I count myself extremely lucky and enriched by knowing him as a friend and mentor! The Euphoria stayed with you and lingered on and on. Over the 35 odd years I have known the man, I have been extremely fortunate to have been welcomed into part of the fabric of his life. He had many "Brothers" in arms and his own two brothers, Tom and Jim must have thought that they had won tattslotto every day of their lives having him as a brother. I can tell you he felt the same way about them! A more gentle, humble, empathic, generous, self effacing, humorous, genuine person you could not find than Rob Flower. I was at his funeral yesterday, and I will be at his public funeral tomorrow. Each time I look up at the sky on a clear night I will seek out the brightest star. If all stars represent great people, then Rob's star will surely be the brightest! With more people like Rob Flower in the world, it would be a more sensational place to be! Vale Rob Flower, a shining light in my life, never forgotten, always remembered "No Regrets" Thanks mate

  10. A big thank you to all those who contributed to Demonland during the past season and also to everyone who posts here and even to those who visit but don't post. We value your contributions and ongoing support - especially to Nasher who keeps us going on the technical side, our moderators whose task is often thankless - especially so when we go through a season such as the last few we've experienced. Particular thanks to our regular contributors, Whispering Jack, George on The Outer, The Oracle, JVM, KC from Casey and all others. Once again they have had to report on games and subjects that have been difficult to write about in 2014 because of our club's lack of on field success. We are all hoping for a bigger and better season in 2015 and that the stories and news we bring you will be more uplifting and exciting than those gone by in recent times. We are always looking out for new contributors who have something to say about the mighty Demons. If you want to contribute an article feel free to contact me via PM. Cheers & thanks again. Andy And a big happy birthday to Nasher ... WJ says 31 is a big number for all Demons. May it be so for you.

  11. Personifies everything we're trying to move on from. Not hard enough at the ball, doesn't put his body on the line, jogs halfarsedly from contest to contest but provides no legitimate leads, and falls over at the faintest sign of a breeze. Love his community work though.

  23. Not just game, set and match Bing. This is the whole tournament. It explains why Dank refused to be interviewed and why there has been so much resistance on the part of many to allowing the truth to come out in the normal way, without interference or meddling of the various parties. This saga started because the ACC was investigating the importation of illegal substances into the country. The investigation followed the money trail as it usually does in these cases and found Dank and the Essendon Football Club. The Bombers and Hird really are, as the title to this thread says, <redacted>. I hope for their sake that the players take the best deal that's put on the table. I hope that Paddy Ryder gets cleared to the club of his choice today. I hope that the Essendon Board resigns en masse as soon as is practical. I hope that James Hird does the right thing and has nothing more to do with this sport. I hope that none of the players or their children suffer any after effects from the pharmacological regime they were subjected to. I hope Robbo apologises to the Essendon mother he accused of being a fiction. I hope the AFL's role in this story comes out as well and that it is not allowed the comfort of vindication. I hope we can go back to following a sport instead of a forensic examination.

  24. Reality check needed. 1. Kennedy signed a contract extension with Sydney this year. 2. The Swans are the bloody Swans and he lives there with his extremely hot misses (who works there). 3. Even if, by some hand of god Kennedy was going through a break up and didn't want to win premierships anymore, he would cost us pick 2 and 3 without doubt... Some of the pick 12 and Toumpass comments are just showing everyone that you don't watch footy unless Melbourne is playing.

  31. Ok my guess regarding one of the players from the riddles: “As I said a massive game of chess. The end results are far certain. Our likely trade partner comes in black and white but is not a little bird.” - GNF As mentioned by some, a Swan which is a big bird that can come in either Black or White. These three posts below were liked by GNF, suggesting a trade with Sydney (relates well the their COLA sactions and this players high level of pay). “From BF, Devastating Boris (Melbourne supporter) Quote My mate works in the footy dept for GWS but as we all know Sydney is very small and he often gets swans news. He can't say anything more other than to strap myself in for a big week if everything goes well." “I thought sydney could trade their players for draft picks, but could not trade players for other players, if so they maybe looking to get as many early draft picks as this their sole source of new blood this year.” “Correct. Can only trade out their players for picks, not other picks” With that in mind being Sydney and a Black and White swan I think one player is TOM MITCHELL. Notice the Black Swan and White Swan,

  40. This is the biggest week for the MFC since the 2000 GF. I have been muted so no names will be mentioned, but if all goes to plan we will end up with 2 A Graders plus pick 2. The 2 players would enter our list as the 2 best players on our list. Roos may need to settle for a less experienced likely A Grader (a Tyson like) but this is not plan A. Don't be surprised if at least 1 of the players gained has been unmentioned on DL or the media. We are the main player in a massive game of chess. Roos is already a legend, on Thursday evening he may have become a God. A Demon God no less.
