  1. Hi, I've just got back from the game and joined you fellow demonlanders because I'm convinced I've seen the reincarnation of the great Matthew Whelan. Neville Jetta has been amazing this year, never thought he had it in him. Here's a look at his games: Essendon - Kept three time premiership champion Paul Chapman under control with Chapman only getting 18 possessions and 1 goal. Collingwood - Kept Collingwood livewire Jamie Elliot to his lowest possession and goal count this year with 9 disposals and 1 goal. Port Adelaide - Before Wingard got subbed, kept the new wonderkid Chad Wingard to only 5 POSSESIONS! Western Bulldogs - Kept vastly impressive Luke Dahlhaus goalless for only the second time this year! Adelaide - Destroyed Eddie Betts. Keept him goalless and to 8 possessions. Sydney - Didn't have any impact with the ball but Kept the lightening quick Lewis Jetta goalless. Since Whelan, when have we had a small defender this good. Not only is Jetta fantastic at stopping small forwards, he uses the ball well. Even though he isn't a long kick his short passes nearly always hits the mark and he hits players in good positions. One final wrap for Jetta, whenever he needs to lay a tackle he lands it. Today he put a Essendon player into next week! I've joined a forum for this bloke. I've been so impressed whilst not a games, but watching him live, Wow, Roos & Jetta have created something special.

  5. BomberBlitz has that driver error page up that we used to see all the time. I know how horrible that feels like, just adds insult to injury after a bad loss. My heart goes out to their admins. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTT! HA!!

  8. I've probably only been to the footy by myself a handful of times and tonight was one of them. I watched from space station height for the first three quarters then went down and stood at the back behind the goals in the Ponsford for the final quarter in case the game got tight and I could drown my frenzied squealing in amongst similar pitch. I'm not really contributing anything to this thread, I just haven't had the usual chance to debrief on the game with friends and family on the walk back to the car, and have had to settle for vigorous hugs from strangers after the final siren. That feeling immediately after the siren. Gold. Very proud of the team tonight.

I got up told him to shut the f%^k up and told me if l didn't like it to go somewhere else. We didn't and when Salem kicked the goal l turned around gave him a look and he was just about crying, it was beautiful..........hate bummer supporters

  19. Tim Lane is right in The Age: "If the club is successful in the Federal Court, averting disaster on a technicality bearing no relationship to the case at issue, it will achieve an outcome repugnant to most. Its triumph will be Australian sport’s shame. The nation’s reputation for a commitment to clean sport will be tarnished. This would be the type of deflection of a doping case that Australian sports lovers have come to detest. It would rightly leave all bar blinkered partisans feeling that, when push comes to shove, our sporting standards are no better than those of the international fixers we read about in the press."

  20. Just watched the last two minutes vision. The chain of handballs were nice and I loved Crossy's pass, but the win by Pedersen in the back pocket and the rocket handball out to Jones, and the effort of McKenzie on the wing were the reason that goal happened. Well done lads, you just won your team the game.

  24. Cam Pedersens play in the back pocket with 1:15 left was unbelievable As was the chain of play that continued on after that and led to Salems goal Special mention to Jordie McKenzie who had a couple of very important possessions on the wing in that chain

  27. You also said it was the second time in two weeks Roos has been out coached... you repeatedly stated we had not improved from the Neeld days... you are gutless. And going by the second last sentence above, you have to be Yze_Magic!

  39. We played about 40 minutes of footy. We never looked like winning it and still can't quire believe we snatched it. Hopefully, this is the platform we need to go to that next level. Jamar was immense in the last 40, given Bellchambers had given him a bath in the first half. Grimes probably played the best game of his career. He should have kicked that first one, but made some good decisions today. After a one dimensional first half, McKenzie earnt his spot in the second half. He was terrific. Despite giving away two or three goals from clangers, Dunn was excellent. Then you have Nathan Jones, who was our most consistent player. What a leader.

  43. Don't be surprised at their attitude, most here still think CC was joking and we didn't tank. It's the same thinking that says Caro is a terrible journo when she comments on MFC (remember we hated her when she was anti Schwab well before the tanking fiasco) but terrific when she comments on EFC. Tribal culture and support is a very strong instinct. I totally agree with Redleg, if I was a player manager, player legal adviser, mentor, trusted friend or parent I'd be telling the player to take the offer and move on. But interestingly the same ethos that got them into this trouble is probably stopping them doing it. I also agree with the penalty. 6 months is a good compromise taking into account the fact the players were duped and also the need to enforce some sort of punishment. My view is that if they don't take the offer they get 2 years and that would be terrible for footy. Little and Hird are two of the most dislikeable humans I know. Finally it's important that Little, Hird, Reid, Little and his Board and Corcoran don't see the inside of a footy club again.
