Weetra, what should we expect?

I've never seen the bloke play, is there anyone on our list you could liken him to? Did he play any games for the sandy seniors this year? What position?

I remember reading a bit about him when we drafted him but can't say i know to much about him.

I dont even know what he looks like, but just the fact that we have a young Aboriginal kid buried down the bottom of our list is enought o excite me

And he has a cool name

Hopefully Bailey can unleash him

I havnt seen him play, but for anyone who has:

* Has he improved much since the start of the year (or since his first game, since I hear he was injured for a while)?

* What do you think he'll have to do next year to keep his place on the list? Do you think getting a regularly place in the Sandy 1s will be enough, or will he need to start really impacting games in the Sandy seniors and be pushing for a spot in the Melbourne squad by the end of the year?

* Assuming he makes it, what sort of player would you liken him to? If he does make it, will he fill any holes in the Melbourne list?

Weetra will be tested in the 08 season. Bailey will put every kid on the roster to the test. If Weetra is going to be any good, we will get an idea come preseason.

He will be tested preseason, and if he puts in a good showing he might be a chance ot play a few senior games of footy.

This stage last year everyone was talking about Bode.

Towards the end of the year he showed us something, and I expect Weetra to do the same in 08.

He was drafted as a bottom age player, had an interrupted pre season and missed most of the first half of 2007 with injury. He had a couple of really good games with the Sandy reserves but looked all at sea when he was called up to play his only senior game for Sandringham. He'll be starting from scratch again next year and I suspect he might have to spend more time at VFL reserves level before he gets a call up for the seniors at Sandy. Look for him in red and blue in 2009 if at all.

True... the aboriginal flag is a permanent fixture in the essendon cheer squad.

Can't wait for one to appear in the MCC.

I hope we never have one, we are supporting the MFC not the aboriginal flag, just the same if we had a pom or german i would not want there flags either.

What about a China's flag?

if we did find some players in china that we would like to turn into footy players..how do we get them into out side, as rookies or in the PSD, are there tricky rules/regulations for stuff like this?

I'm sure we would have add the occassional Irish flag appear in the crowd once upon a time.

I think kept flags away from the cheersquad but in stadium can't be an issue.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
