points well made. the problem with the situation is it could become a bidding war leaving some club to pay over the odds asking price...although if judd is smart he will avoid this because it will wreck his new team, which is why i think he will chose one club only...

Not that Judd wanting money is an issue, but if it was, he could throw a cool million on himself going to Melbourne at $8 and then sign with the Demons! He could then play on a lower salary in order for the Demons to be able to keep more quality players, hence giving him greater opportunity to play in a flag.

Problem solved.

Back to the original theme here. I dont believe Essendon are even on the same page as us. Reading such items as http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/lloyd-ju...9881514530.html you get the idea they arent prepared to really offer that much, and whilst WCE arent driving this buggy they are in the loop. This cant excite anyone. GOOD !! :)

The thing is essendon arent really prepared to offer anything that the Eagles cant find in their backyard for nothing!!

I'm not sure if I would do it, but reading on the other thread that Mclean want to leave(which i dont believe he does) got me thinking. Would we trade Mclean for pick 2, and then pick 2, and 4 for judd? I'm unsure.

DD

thats gotta be the biggest load of bollocks I've heard so far in this trade period. McLean wanting to leave

"Judd has indicated to Hawthorn, a willing suitor, that he is not interested in playing for them and the Hawks will not be meeting him when he arrives in Melbourne today to meet a surgeon tomorrow about an operation to repair the groin injury that dogged him during the second half of the season."

I wonder if the alleged drug culture down at the Hawks influenced his decision..... coz apart from that, they have a great midfield for him to join and a developing forwardline for him to target. Plus they play at the 'G.

Good work Juddy... keep saying no, until you say yes to us.

That's the first thing I said about the Hawks. I think that it is a major factor given that he is running away from all that.

Still... we know nothing! <_<

From the Realfooty article about not wanting to play for the Hawks, I don't believe it. Where are the quotes? To me the typical footy journo is like a fisherman who chucks berley in the water to stir up the fish into a feeding frenzy. I will only listen to quotes on this matter, no inuendo, indications or hearsay.

Just found another article on the matter by Greg Denham.

Pies have pulling power

I think it's a bit rich for him to have Collingwood suddenly favourite ahead of the Blues (once again, we get largely ignored).

However, it's probably good news for us, as well.

I love how they talk about the MCG being a big factor, but don't talk about Melbourne.

We played 12 games at the MCG this year, to Collingwood's 15. Next year, we're likely to play one more with the end of the Brisbane deal.

That's 13 vs. 15. We also happen to have our headquarters at the MCG, and are the ground's original tenants. But because we are Melbourne, we don't get a mention. This is exactly why we need Judd, so that we can stop being so damn insignificant!

Posted

Thats exactly why we needed Sheedy too.

I feel if we had Sheedy now we would be more likely to get Judd as well. This will be a very interesting decision. You would think we are some chance, but rightfully not favourite. Will Judd choose money, media exposure, greatest chance to win a premiership or his childhood team when choosing.

We know he shys away from the media so that works in our favour and we also know that money is not his primary reason for moving so that also works in our favour. We know he was a Melbourne supporter as a kid and his family are Melbourne supporters, played for Sandy and was entertained and invited to training for two years by the MFC before being drafted by the West Coast. We also know his prefered club then was Melbourne. You would think this works in our favour too.

Wish I could tell you all more but I am scared that Chris or Bec will work out who I am if I say any more, but I will say no decision has been made and we are in the running. Carlton should not be $1.30.

As I said this will be an interesting decision.

HOLD ON. I don't mean to doubt you mate, but do you actually know something, or are you just having a good ol' fashioned tug of the chain. You certainly seem to know your stuff (all that Judd and Sandy). Can you give us some more reason to be more optimistic :)

Posted

I think most people are overlooking the biggest factor here, and that is that West Coast will take whatever they can get their hands on. Judd will nominate the club he wants, and if West Coast doesn't comply, they will get nothing for the greatest player in the league. They can't afford this, so they will be forced into dealing with whoever Judd wants. This means that they will make deals with the likes of Collingwood and Essendon regardless of previous dealings.

It all comes down to which club makes the best presentation to Judd over the next week. If Melbourne can offer him (not WC) something Collingwood cannot, we are in with a shot.

Posted

Yes, Jaded I know as a fact that Judd family are still active Melbourne supporters. I am sure in recent years they have had divided loyaltys as there son has been captain of WC.

Will they pressure his decision in any way?

Gees, my dad would never forgive me if I had the opportunity to play for Melbourne and I chose Collingwood!!! <_<

Where are the rest of the posts on Chris Judd???

I'm in Perth on holiday, and heard a rumour(which may have been aired on this forum , but I can't find it), that the reason Judd's interested in Collingwood is because Eddie's offered Rebecca a job reading the weather on Ch. 9.

Couldn't Ian Johnson offer her something better on Ch 7?(reporter on that 6.30 current affairs, or something)

If you look over at Demonology you'll see that Ian Johnson has been on 3AW tonight saying just that. In fact he was defending himself because the AW blokes were mooting it could be construed as part of our salary cap. Numpties...

If that's the only thing attracting him to Collingwood, we're home and hosed... I doubt that though.

Also, most of my mates are Essendon supporters, and speaking to them tonight, they reckon Lloyd has well and truly discharged the old 12 gauge into the shoe with his remarks last night. I don't think Essendon are out of it, by any means, but Lloyd's comments were borderline retarded. And this is the man who's going to be talking Essendon up in the absence of a yet-to-be-annointed Senior coach. Hard to believe their odds shortened today on the back of that.

I want to know whatever info you have, i like pretending that we will get him :)

Haha.

I don't know if Deetastic wants to share it with you and others, thats his choice (sensitive information, you see).

Let's just say that, if he's right(and he has good reason to believe he is), these media flogs are all going to lose their money at the TAB. Judd is very close to us. Not signed, not sealed, and certainly not delivered. But very close.
