  1. Some of you guys have lost your minds. 1. Yze played no where near as badly as most of you guys have suggested. Sure it was not a great game from him, but keep in mind that he played everywhere from the back pocket to the forward pocket during the game (yes, I stayed and watch that disaster to the end unlike many on this site). It is hard to get into the game when you are being asked to do a different job every 15 minutes. He spent best of the third quarter in the forward pocket in which time the ball did not come his direction. Yze has missed nearly all of season 07, has performed well in the pre-season, has been a champion of the club for the best of a decade and deserves the chance to prove himself once more. 2. I understand the theory of playing kids only. Many of you preach to drop every player older than about 24 and play the developing players only. Those of you who are suggesting this, its time you stopped, thought about what you are saying, and perhaps thought about downgrading yourselves to readers only on this site as you are offering nothing. I am in agreement with developing young players, however, it is not in the young players best development interest if they were to play and lose by 15+ goals every week, this is what would happen if we played youth only. Their development would be stumped, bad habits would develop, the young players confidence destroyed and worst of all a culture of losing would develop. Their talent would be eventually lost. Further experienced and veteran players play a vital role of mentoring, leading and coaching the inexperienced players on the team both on and off the ground. Playing youth blindly is not the answer. Senior players should only lose their spot on the team when they are clearly not in the best 20 of 22. Further it is important for the virtue of the once great MFC, to be competitive, and not to lose by 15+ goals week in, week out which is what a youth only policy would create. Sponsorship and Corporate Sales and Memberships have a high correlation to the number of games won. Simply we can't afford to lose every game at every level of the club. Now come on guys think your thoughts though properly, we are all angry, we are all hurting, knee jerk reactions are not the way forward. There is a place for experienced players in poor football teams; there is no place for stupidity.
  2. Where abouts is he fishing and what happened to him after football? Does anyone know?
  3. I loved this guy. The most tallented goal kicker I have ever seen play in the Red and Blue. Unfortunently he loved the party life too much, trained poorly and was thus injury prone. His career was very short and very sweet. For a couple of seasons he was amazing. Kicked some incredible goals and was simply unstoppable. What ever happened to him? Where is he today?
  4. If he is the best player left in the PSD "YES".
  5. Diablo, as you know I have much more to lose than anyone else on this thread if Judd does not come to the Dees and much more to gain if he does come. Thus I will be crying the hardest and longest!
  6. Fuschia, This is a very good point. Why are our odds so low considering that 8 in 10 bets are on Collingwood? Makes no sense. Why does someone want to be $25000 on Melbourne and every other family member also making this bet? These guys had never bet with Sports bet before. Interesting, interesting! Here is the article from todays Herald Sun: http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E20322,00.html My view is he wants to come to Melbourne but did the right thing and interviewed the 3 big Melbourne clubs as well to keep Melbourne honest and also to satisfy himself that he was indeed making the right decision.
  7. I hope and doubt this is not true. Too much detail I feel. If this was the case Judd would simply say his prefered club is Collingwood, the detail would be left quite. I think it is more likely that a Collingwood official or even supporter has posted this to show all that Collingwood could deal if Judd goes for the pies.
  8. Calm down mate he has not chosen yet. I truely feel that loyalty and integrity is not lost by all footballers and that one of those its not lost with is Chris Judd. He is coming home to his family and friends........... and to play for the childhood team he loved. Your faith will be restored.......................... I hope!
  9. My view is that he is very unlikely to choose more than one club. If he does this he will know that it will start a bidding war which will ultimately be to the detriment of the team he ends up going to. No point in that.
  10. Judd has said at the Brownlow that he would sit down with his manager "Connor" and discuss his preferred club. Connor was at all the interviews. What I am trying to say is that if Judds first choice is Collingwood (I don't think it is), Judd will sit down with Connor and discuss this. If Connor believes Collingwood are not in a position to accommodate WC he will advise Chris not to go this direction as he is then likely to end up at Richmond in the PDS or worse any club that makes a deal with WC during trade period. If Connor does not think a deal with Collingwood and WC can be made he will advise Judd to go for his second choice rather than risking going to a club he has no interest in. As for Chris Judds marketability, I believe he will be more sort after being seen as the games best player who did the romantic thing and went back to the club he loved as a kid, and his family. A player who rejected higher offers to help rebuild his beloved childhood club, then any other scenario.
  11. I understand this is true. He was tossing up between a house in East Melbourne over looking the MCG and the house in Prahan. The auction was last Saturday.
  12. My understanding is our board expect an announcement this week. However, according to todays Herald Sun, Chris is going into surgery on his groin tomorrow. This being the case you would expect him to make an announcement today, Friday (maybe too close to Grand Final) or next week after the GF.
  13. Judd makes the final decision and then its upto the club involved to satisfy WC demands. If they can't Pre Season Draft.
  14. Did anyone notice last night how Chris had to pull the microphone away from Rebecca when the reporter asked "What colours Chris would look best in?" After pulling the microphone away from Bruce Macalvanys hand and away from Rebecca’s mouth Chris said "You are not allowed to ask that question?" and the telecast went to a commercial break. This is a clear sign that the decision has indeed been made and Rebecca knows the destination. Who is it? Who knows but my father is very close friends with one of our board members and my father told me last night that he had been told by the board member that it was between Melbourne and Collingwood. That the Melbourne board think they are favourites and they expect an announcement this week. I note that on another post which came originally from Demonogy that similar things have been said. This information is completely independent of that which is also meant to come from a board member and thus I have come to the conclusion that there is a high likelihood that this is true.
  15. So Melbourne continues to firm. We started at $8 last Monday (after announcement) moved to $9 and have continued to firm since. On Wednesday last week I put $500 on at $7.5, because from what I knew at that stage our fair odds were more like $2 -$3. From what I know now our fair odds should be tighter than this today. I would be expecting our odds to continue to firm. This is an extremely good sign.
