Give green and bruce a break they aren't 100% fit. Matter of fact the whole team isn't fit to the standards of other clubs. Big pre season will be needed i think.

you are missing the point. it is not about how good bruce and green are, nor is it about how they are performing. it is about their value to our next premiership and their current trade value. do you think we can win the flag next year? if yes then we keep both these players. if no, well we consider trading them for high draft picks and bring in more quality youth to stand alongside mclean, sylvia, bate and newton for the next 10 years, rather than the next 3. bruce has trade value now, he wont in 2 years.

Voss said he recieved a message from the MFC.

That could have been a message from his agent, it could have been a voice message, i don't think he said text message, but i could be wrong.

Correct. He said he had "received a message" which he would return this week.

Bottom line is that if he's interested, and professional, he'll call back. If he's not he won't, and we don't want him.

a couple of things Voss said

- I need to find out whether I have the passion to coach...you would hope he would have already established that if he is serious about coaching an AFL team next year

- its important that the club has the good facilities...(you would think we would be last on that factor of the teams looking for a new coach)

That's what I said.

Thanks for the life story snippet though ;)

How Shite is our club when we text Micheal Voss about the coachs job. LOL what a Joke 11 years membership 4500 dollers!!!!!!!

We should demand a refund for the **** we are putting up with!!!!!

We want answers we sacked our coach 5 weeks ago but freo blues and bombers are ahead of us in the race for a new coach

mark my words were gonna get our 4th choice

The club is skant which means they are poor

List is ****

No money

No home ground

NO superstars

What are we doing???? As usual waiting for someone else to make a move before we do anything, Im peeved off arn't u????

This club good be GONE for good if we **** this up. Sooo lets watch us **** it up again!!!!!

I think you're a bit harsh on nathan brown, he should have been all-australian a couple of years back, and i think this year he has gone a long way in getting some of that old form back. Mad-Dog would be a good mentor for some of the younger guys coming through, works-hard, is hard at the ball and never gives up. I think he does a lot for our backline as well, in terms of setting up attacks.

johnstone is again a dissapointment this year, after a couple of really good years achieving his much anticipated promise, he has slidden again. he should go, if we're going to change our culture of accepting mediocrity, (spelling?) we should trade those three players you mentioned baz.

although again i think bizzel might be a benefit for us, if he can get fit again, he would be instrumental down back, a big agile body. and as he ages, we can bring him down forward again like he was at geelong. by that time newton will have kicked 300 goals, and bizzel could be of great assistance.

this is my first post, so i want to say, daniher was awesome! the reverand had some strange affinity with the drink bottles, and a slightly 'drunk' sense of humour, but i think he was successful in some areas, and lacked in others, a broad generalisation i know...i think what stands out is the fact that he saw us to two very unsuccesful finals campaigns, the most gutting was losing to essendon in the first final, players like green, johnstone, yze, white are allowed to be soft as butter and maybe should have been tought how to toughen up, and string a couple of games together, but the fact is, we were in those finals, he coached one of the most unlikely bronlow mediallists, and he has enormous respect! a pity gardiner didn't haven't!

anyway, we have got a good list of players, and bit of a [censored]-weak culture, and a definant lack of supporters going to the games. I hope next year we can get some good things happening in all these areas!

go dees

Need to include in those saying good bye to :- Riley, Curran, Paul Williams, the fitness coach (who slimed the side down from no 1 tackling side in 2006!!) and the 2007 game plane (was evident in 1st NAB cup game at TD MFC players would not perfect the run and carry gameplan & did not look promising for 2007. Need whole of preseason to get it out of their system.

MFC need to take a 2 -3 year year focus and look to turn over the list over that period with base on the good young core we have.

Based on that we would accept a rebuilding and development year in 2008 provided coaching style points to going forward on a logical and sound basis. Use this period to phase out Neita, Yze, Robbo, Junior, etc. Need to cull well for next year to maximise new blood bring in in 2008.

Absolutely the main culprit to see the back of is that so called fitness expert Bogdan whatever his name is, he has been disastrous to our team this year. I don't think anybody could have stepped in after Danners and revived this lot in their state of fitness including Voss

Delist:

-Brown

-Miller

-Ferguson

-Warnock

-Jamar

-CJ

I know you love Clint Bizzell, but how can you advocate we delist Warnock and CJ, and keep Bizzell?

List managment is more than about one season. Bizzell has no future at Melbourne, because to put it simply, he's old. He doesn't fit into our best team, which means he's depth, and for some reason, 30 year old depth players don't really appeal to most clubs.

Bizzell would also cost us more than Warnock or CJ would.

His age has in no way affected how he plays. His only realy injury concerns have been bone fractures (i.e. his leg and cheek / jaw).

I'm not suggesting that Melbourne give him another three years, however he does deserve at least one more.

Next year is the future.

Warnock is still young, but has shown very little. Same with CJ. They might be late bloomers, but nothing has suggested (from what I've seen) that this will happen.

You cannot deny that Bizzell has been very good this year and did not deserve to be dropped last week because of form. You've got to remember too that he missed a year of AFL football and pretty much just stepped back in as if nothing had changed.

Come on guys. They're just playing with the spirit you're showing. This is the start of a new era. If we win another game I'll be really upset. I'm nearly prepared to bet moneywe'll be ok next year though maybe not quite the 8. I'll be optomistic as long as Pav or that winger from WC haven't both signed with anyone else.

Geelong were pretty much in the same position to us, except they kept there coach, everyone thought they were stuffed and need a full rebuild. 12 months latter and there pretty much shoe ins for the premiership. We will be allright. Get rid of all the negativity. If our players thought 5% of the negative [censored] you guys think about they wouldnt get a game in the amateurs.

What facts are they mate before I go off the deep end?

fact 1 - we dont know it was a text message

fact 2 - your spray at the start suggests you have already gone off the deep end

i understand your frustration, but at this point, we need to look for any positives, miniscule though they may be; this is not the time to " eat our own ", but a time to pull together.

i felt your post was extremely negative and angry [again, we all understand and share the frustration ], but we are not privy

to the inner workings and thought processes of the coaching and football departments or indeed even know of niggling injuries that may affect productivity on the field on a week to week basis.

the hunger and desire that is not evident on a consistent basis, the lack of fundamental [ for afl players ] skills that is evident on a consistent basis are the pressing problems; there is no point looking for kpp,s , good draft picks etc. if they come into a team where the basics are missing - we will just bring them down.

a coach who can rekindle or motivate hunger and desire to win or to at least do their best, and ensure that practised skills are evident when it counts - on game day - should be our priority.

i dont think daniher did that for us.

hopefully the club is now going through the " processes " that will make this happen.

If Bizzell was anywhere near the vicinity of Harvey in terms of talent, output, leadership and importance to the side, than of course you'd let him carry on.

But the comparison is irrelevant. As I said, Bizzell is not in our best 22, and when you get to 30 years of age, and you're not part of the club's best team going forward, you are not a required player. That's just the way it goes. We must be ruthless and start cleaning out the list, which is full of deadwood.

Haha, Bizzell being compared to Robert Harvey. That's classic! :D

I think everyone is being to negative. the team is in damage control. they are playing like the end of the season cant come quick enough. when next season starts all the last few games will be forgotten. in fact getting belted will show them how much work needs to be done.

dont try justify urself..... u have cornered urself

u said it clear and simple... hes too old.... and thats ur problem. u cant see a players worth once he has reached a certain age bracket

the harvey compared to bizzel is irrelevant to ur argument .......of 30 is too old how on earth would a 35 year old make ur best 22

my argument does not concern bizzel but rather ur generalised comments and thoughts towards older players...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
