  1. Dean Bailey discussed the managment of jack Watts with Dermot Brereton (IMO one of the most insightful opionators around) on SEN about a month ago. Most impressive debate on the game, and player management heard for ages. Bailey has it in spades - edevlopment wise. Other test will come late, but for now he's OK I reckon

    MCC

Further to Rhino's execllent coverage - the MCC funds the full MCG redevelopment, not taxpayers etc. and if your A**se points to the ground - your in! That's my idea of egalitarian. Secondly, the MCC memebers who DO attend MFC games are as passionate and abusive lot as anywhere else in the ground. I waited 20 years and got admitted the year Barassi arrived back in '81. It seemed a good thing at the time.
  3. [quote name='Yze_Magic' date='May 26 2008, 06:30 PM' post='150080] As always, the problem is the MFC demographic, which is comprised primarily of rich bayside toffs who would rather be at Mt.Buller than be at the MCG.
  4. 35 metres out , last quarter and nearly kicked it out on thr full. Not acceptable at this level.
  5. fair point, except i didn't see them when i posted, and in any caae they are all about what he did and didn't say on the show. Who gives a rats. I'm about dignityin the twiligth of one's career. Then again, if i was on megabucks, maybe I'd stay till they tiurned out the lights. Let's not be precious about this.. We need re-building and if your not in the mix then move on.
  6. I had lunch with a die-hard demon member today (I am one as well). Topic: "did you see Robbo on It takes Two..." If it comes to this, then I would rather remember how he would take a speccie probaly once a match, but that's about it. Players need to recognise when their time is up. Some do, but most don't and it's really sad. Does the word dignity ring a bell when referenced to retirement. The future lies elsewhere, but unfortunately dollars speak louder. Dean Bailey - i'm relying on you to make the big calls soon.
  7. Cliches are easy , but life is not that simple when you have a poorly perfoming product to market. I have booked a Corp. Box through the club for my company (for the last 4 years) and when calling the club today to confirm arrangements, my contact , who did a fantatsic job of handing my enquiry and locking in the deal, didn't anwser the mobile, but was operating the switchboard when i finally made contac - Talk about multi-skilling. I, and I expect Paul Mc namee would want them out marketing. Like Dean Bailey rebuilding the team from scratch , these things WILL take time. You either hang in there, like I did in the 60's and 70's , or you don't . If its the latter, you weren't that rusted on anyway.
  8. Rivers is the best 'reader' of the play I have seen . Malthouse recently bemoaned that you needed to get 35 possessions a game and play midfield to win the Rising Star Award. What a [censored]. Rivers won it as a centre half back by his inate ability to control a backline at , what 19 years of age!
  9. Robbo...count yourself very very very lucky and show us something!
  10. Bode makes a good point about being inundated with media. People forget that there are around 1400, yes 1400, journalist/media whores accredited with the AFL. There aint that much to write/comment/film about so they need to get out there and create product. Without stories like Carey, MFC performance, Fevola, Didak, ben graham wearing a black armband when his dog died, etc, SEN would have to play Muzak all day. There are only 400 journalists who cover the political scene FCS!
  11. One of the great all-time posts RR! keep up the spirit.
