T Mac And Petty are BOTH cooked and should only be played in extreme emergencies

I'd add Salem to that conversation also...

FYI in an email we received from the club on 15 April it said the following. GA seating on level 4 should be fine on the night if you have a H & A game membership as I do. Hope that helps some people.

My Collingwood family (extended) told me Mihocek was cooked. Laughed at me when I said we’d be happy to have him.

My StKilda supporting mate told me Steele was ‘done’ and he was happy we are paying his pension in that 3rd year. I thought he would be good to take the pressure off of the kids without Viney there.

When we just throw away those that are ‘cooked’ because ‘the kids’ would be better for the run. You don’t know that. You’re hoping. The same thread that doesn’t want to play a 33 year old pro also has seen calls for a possible debutante to play the opposite end to which he has been training.

Some of you need to just go down to your local club and smell the grass. Little idea what develops players and what makes good teams and clubs.

Why Heath OUT ?

Love Max pushing forward and JVR not having to ruck

Give The 2 rucks a bit more opportunity to see what we can do with it

Absolutely.

It's no coincidence imv that Rooh was able to deliver when needed due to the very fact that he wasn't spending so much needed energy, nor getting beaten up, having to play his usual chop out relief role for Max.

We were also able to throw Max forward in short stints to mix things up a bit and stretch the opposition as highlighted.

Moose also managed to hold his own a bit in his ruck contests.

Surely the Moose stays!

Reminds of what my Essendon mate said about Hibberd and Melky coming to us.

I know we're playing at night, but weather wise it's meant to be a beautiful 26 degree day so it should be a pleasant evening

Not my favourite ANZAC jumper.

IMO it was perfect in 2022 with the yolk replaced by poppies. Would love that to be our permanent ANZAC jumper going forward.

I learned my lesson when we got rid of James McDonald. I hope we never do that again, even if it means risking a few pension years for club legends.

Did anyone calling for TMac not to come in and calling him “cooked” actually watch the VFL game?! I watched the whole thing TMac was clearly BOG for us in a disappointing performance. He beat his man regularly, ran all day and even though I flinch every time he kicks the ball he hit his targets. If Petts is out TMac plays. Richmond have Sampson and Lefau, we need a big defender, also TMac did some great things in our win over the suns, how quickly we forget.

Otherwise Laurie is stiff but Lindsay comes in and Lingers goes back to the wing, we need the run, Ed will be Freshened up as is Lindsay.

In TMac Lindsay

Out Petty (if concussed) Laurie

How’s Fritta going with that troublesome foot? Didn’t look sore against Lions but I wonder if off a short break he might be managed for this one and Cross comes in.

I would like to see us run with Turner and Lever as CHB/FB and use Howes and Taylor to play a bit taller. I’d bring AMW back in for Petty

Only other changes would be sore players.

How good is it to have him in the side ,for year after year when we had no forwards, Sam Weiderman never given a fair go Brody takes 1st defender ,Roo 2nd then you have Fritch ,Melksham ,The Splinter Brothers ,from our forward line being a total basket case opposition have to now man up .If Brody is a 2 year player we could snag a flag on the G ,the way this season is shaping it could be our year or next .And how good is it to see Brody in the Blue and Red and just bursting out of his skin for the DEES .Cant wait for the KB game

Yes, but if he keeps a kid from having to be exposed then he is worthwhile.

The development of the kids is only aided by Mihocek and Steele but I know there were nuffies on here saying we shouldn’t bother for 31/32 year olds and play the kids.

TMac playing so far this year may have meant Howes could play a more suited role. Perhaps it has already paid dividends?

He didn’t need TMac on Sunday

TMac is finished - done

He costs games, even with all his experience

I’d rather lose games with a developing player who can learn

What was his mobilty and speed like? The Tiger forwards can't all be greyhounds.

He covered a lot of ground and moves well in a straight line. He’s the TMac we’ve known for years.

Amen to that!🤩

I could not agree more, Tmac is still needed. I never understand this “play the kids” mantra that goes around. You should only play kids if they can be sheltered from being exposed as not ready and destroying their confidence when they are badly beaten. Our current defence is not as good as it was a couple of years ago but it is still better than most, we played Taylor for his first game, he played an average game but there were good players around him who could cover up his weaknesses and he was not thrust into carrying a weak defence. Anyone playing any team sport learns nothing from be total out classed. Richmond are a team with few seasoned good players but the team is full of kids, what did they learn from being trashed by north melbourne? I would suggest very little but there are many people queuing their talent or lack of. Richmond needs seasoned players who help the kids mature. Just throwing kids into a weak team just halts their development.

Lever, Salem, Langdon, Sparrow, Chandler, Fritsch, Mihocek, Gawn, Steele, Melksham that's enough experience don't need McDonald or Petty and it's not just about experience it's about form and their form has been shocking.

I did and I thought he was ordinary as was Moniz-Wakefield the only one that impressed me was Mentha down back the rest were ordinary. Henderson tried hard a lot better midfielder than he is half forward. McDonald wasn't any better in his Essendon game and got dropped. Petty almost cost us the game he's cooked more than McDonald both should stay in the VFL.

Edited by WERRIDEE

Also Sampson will play in the ruck no need to put anyone on him. Lever steps up to key position and Howes takes Lever's role.

My brother said Mihocek was cooked when he turned it over against St.Kilda then he went on to kick 3 goals. Steele was always likely to be a good player he's not burdened with having to do everything like he had to at St.Kilda. We've found our replacement for Oliver but we haven't found our replacement for Petracca if we had Petracca we'd be a sneaky chance for the flag.

And Kentfield was ahead of Jefferson in the pre season…

The fact is they are both at the starting line, and I am looking at both of them from the stands waiting for them to get on the blocks.

That's not true both got injured at the same time. King rates Jefferson I haven't heard him rate Kentfield.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
