Does anyone here get a bit of ye olde 'Mark Jacko Jackson' feels when watching Rooh at times? Aside from the donkey kicks of course!

I don’t know, just seems weird.

Doesn't necessarily make it less real.

Will have to wait for the club, though they may prefer to protect the player.

How good is Disco coming along too.

So good. He is amazing at mopping up the ground balls. Great agility for his size. Always manages to get out of trouble and quickly get on the attack.

We are a much better team on the G. No lethargy today. Quick out of the gates, unlucky not to be in front in the first.

We need to create some central corridor runs. Smart coaching as we made some quick ball movements, especially the third, allowed the forwards an advantage. I thought everyone took their opportunities when called upon (other than a few with clangers).

Loved our pressure game, we chased well, including Fritsch. I think they were asked to try to unsettle Harris (good to watch his skills, as well as Neal). Some of the Bears ball movement was great, though they had trouble when they switched. We did well to regularly pressure them and get to that groundball first.

Sparrow keeps doing well under King, works so hard. Langford is growing into an important player for us. Chandler, with leadership and impact. Langdon off the half-back works. Turner leading the backs well. Latrelle continues to grow exponentially. King is a brave coach and won't die guessing, he 'has' the players.

I don't get the short of 15m kicks that got called marks. Makes it difficult to defend when they get those regular short, stop and start options.

Glad we did them (we know how to win), good discipline, structures, effort and fitness.

Will the media take us seriously yet?

Haven't read through the thread so this might’ve been hashed already - but is anyone else suss on the Petty incident?

No sign of concussion / concussion symptoms at all until after that horrible turnover.

I don’t know, just seems weird.

Watching on the TV he was in a few pretty big contests ay the end of qtr 2

Tá mé an-sásta gur thóg mé beirt de mo pháistí liom go dtí an cluiche peile inniu. Bhíomar ann ag caitheamh geansaí glas le haghaidh Jimmy in éineacht le cairde a leanann na Leonaí as Brisbane. Tar éis an cluiche i gcoinne na Bombers, cheap mé nach mbeidh an lámh in uachtar ag na Diabhaill inniu. Ach le beagáin ádh linn, bhí cluiche iontach ann agus bhí craic den scoth againn ag béiceadh agus ag tacaíocht an foireann dearg is gorm abú! 💙❤️☘️🇮🇪🇦🇺🏉

bua iontach agus rud nach ndéanfaidh do pháistí dearmad air. Tá súil agam go bhfanfaidh siad ina lucht leanúna fadtéarmach deamhain

This would have been 2.10 in years past.

Yes and no way there'd be as many set shots from as many higher conversion % angles as most of our mids would've either...

A: Bombed on top of heads to the left pocket.

B: Blazed away from longish range kicking mostly behinds or

C: Blazed away missing everything.

Chin is getting deserved love but Lingers really stood up today. A cool head at pivotal moments.

Lingers was also running the back line, more so than Lever.

True dat.

Sparrow is playing great footy

had some really brave impactful moments and his tackling is so good

It was a great win but gee we should have won by more we made shocking errors that cost us goals.

I’m getting the same excited feelings I got in 18 and 21. We’re actually the most watchable team in the league at the moment. There’s so much growth to come too. I definitely think we’ll tire towards the end of the season, but there’s already so many more positives out of the first 6 weeks of this season than the last 2 years of footy.

Too bad we have Gerard Healey commentating every match, he’s a goose. Matt Hill and Corbin Middlemas however were brilliant.

With only 8 disposals Sharp is prominent in the highlights

Wow ... best match since 2021 GF!!

I'm really happy for myself ... and for GW and Demon Army who put in so much!!

Was just thinking about the clubs moves wrt King v Buckley.

I love the freedom they’re playing with.

Pretty sure it would be less fun to watch if Bucks had gotten the gig.

Buckley is yesterdays man. So happy we didn't go with fihjam

We must be at the point where we can use AI to apply a Gerard or Dwayne filter to the commentary.

Geez he's a plonker. Matt Hill is fantastic. He just calls the bloody game as it is.

Listening to Gerard is like being sat next to a cranky old coot at the footy and listening to him lament all day.

(A bit like this post really)

Isn't it amazing how a change in how we play with so much run and freedom now has brought bigger and louder crowds to the G in a really short time.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and jigged for Jimma. Sounded great on the TV

The new rule changes have actually helped too in general.

Any reports on Petts?

I’m loving the Sunday arvo games at the G. The kids do as well. Even though will finish past their bedtime I reckon I’ll get them along to the Anzac eve game. Give them a taste of their first night game

That’s our style, go for it with the dangerous inboard kicks and when errors come move on and don’t go into our shells. I think as confidence grows and the gameplan embeds further we will pull off more of those attacking plays and kick even bigger scores.

Saw footage on first crack last night of a collision in a marking contest in the second quarter. Looked innocuous at the time. They reckon that collision caused concussion. That’s their opinion. Hasn’t been confirmed by the club yet

Along with everything else our goal kicking accuracy is much improved. We kicked 16.4 (4 knocked through for behind) which is a great conversion rate.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
