Hope we don’t lose to Essendon…

When have you ever not wanted to lose to Essendon?

They have won the last 2 games over there,

We owe them a good Thrashing.....

Should give him a public holiday. Early June to coincide with start of ski season would be appropriate 👌

It's only Round 4, keep a lid on it.

Hes bloody impressive.. just a dude you want to run through a brick wall for.

The lid is well and truly gone after this weekend, let's just revel in being fun to watch again, finally, after 3 years of dross.

He has risen.

The king of Kings.

Come let us adore him,

They have lost 18 in a row and are in line for losing a record 19 in a row.

Make it happen Dees

A predicted end-of-season outcome of 7th to 10th will do for now and that's entirely do-able. It also means finals with the new set-up. So it's not a big ask

Imagine settling for 7th - 10th in the few years following 2021?

So what was once a low bar is now a high bar

Our next biggest test in terms of getting another win is the next match (Essendon)

The final 10 is what it is and they won't be going back to the final 8

Looking further ahead ...

  • Brisbane is tough

  • Richmond winnable,

  • @Sydney real tough

  • Eagles winnable

  • Hawks tough

  • Bulldogs tough

Every winnable games is really vital in terms of bringing our best

Nice to be part of the conversation again though

We need to inflict a record on someone.

It's time, the time has come.

Geebus Crusts, get a grip.

There was a time when publishers thought they were going to go mad because all those newfangled home computers with their word processors and spell checks meant suddenly every hack lacking self-awareness could write what looked to themselves like a 300 page 'real novel' and demand editors read it in full.

There's been orders of magnitide 'progress' on the anyone-can-do-it scale to get to this point.

I’m getting a bit offside with the media.

R1: media said that St Kilda should have won as we started slow.

R3: media said that Carlton lost it and didn’t even mention us really

R4: media said we won because Petracca and Humphrey were out.

At what stage will the media start to say, Melbourne is a good team, or Melbourne will give you a run for your money, don’t underestimate Melbourne.

I think the boys have worked their assess off and when we win it’s more than what the opposition have done wrong.

Let em… keep under the radar. We dont want to turn into an arrogant group of vomit drinkers who play ‘hokball’ or whatever. Let the media say what they want, and sneak up on them all. We can then bask in the glory after we gave actually achieved something…

Yeh you’re probably right, I only have really wanted us to compete and give teams a run for their money.

I’d be stoked to be around the 8-10 mark and they’ll finally give a little of what the club deserves after making some huge decisions over the off season.

Who cares what the outsiders are saying.

We bank the points and move on….

Next week won’t be easy, but i will back the New Coach to get the job done

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
