Calf

Saw a guy at the Chinese takeaway last night.

He got tongue twisted trying to order tofu, because it was listed as bean curd on the menu.

So he asked for sweet and sour [censored]!

Must’ve been a Carlton supporter.

It's about time they paid a free at the ensuing centre non-bounce for that.

I hope he doesn't. Keep the other teams guessing.

I meant how he got the belief back

After 3 years of trying to force a nickname, I hearby jump on board the Koltlock.

Some were saying he wasn't a strong enough body to go with Cripps. Well the big boy couldn't influence anything in the middle and was sent forward, nothing worked.

3 scalps now. I think he might be the real deal.

What a weekend! The Dees come from the clouds and my horse booked a spot in the Melbourne Cup

definitely an air of resignation about them.

I was in the car at 1/4 time with my carlton supporting brother. He wasn't getting excited. He said nup after half time we don't play. I think they know.

They play nth next week. Huge game

Great game from Sparrow! Stood up when we needed him!

Tom was brilliant. His best game ever.

Am I right in saying he and Kozzy both had PB disposal counts?

It's huge that Rivers is dropped and Tom plays like that. So he had more room to show what he can do. He was still rock solid defensively, but got involved in transition and scoring chains. His DE was up and down, but hopefully this game gives him the confidence to push on now.

In the second half Carlton stopped, but we started winning centre clearance. We had 1 for the entire first half, a quick kick from Max in the second quarter.

We also fumbled less, won key contests and exploited their lack of speed around the ball. Catching Cripps twice in the third really set the tone and we were looking dangerous even just prior to 3/4 time.

Super impressive mental effort to chip into that deficit too. Particularly, as they got back out to 20 points again after being only a goal up.

Well done, redlegs, and congratulations to Maxy and TMac. I'm glad we got the win for them. And against Carlton. So sweet.

That was one of the best wins Ive ever seen

Kozzie was God like

Steele is an absolute ripper

Gawn is the Goat

Lever turned back the clock

Sparrow really showed something today.

Great shout.

Easily the best game for thr MFC. Now if we can get that on a consistent level each week then it improves us.

He's kind of a utility and i guess most player's are expected to be able to play a number of roles as they gain experience.

But by his own admission, during his last couple of years under Simon he wasn't sure what role / position he was playing from week to week. And it showed.

He seems to look more at home once he goes into the middle and might be exactly the first use / extractor or extra inside mid we need, alongside Steele. Especially while Vines is out.

King will need a season or so to sort all that out of course. Or maybe less time if today's second half is anything to go by.

Sparrow.

29 touches, 7 tackles and a goal.

Whoever had the idea to recruit Jack Steele (and for peanuts) deserves a raise. Alongside the disposals and clearances, 15 tackles. Hard to imagine what the midfield would be without him in there.

Apparently the Saints are paying a percentage of Steele's salary as well

4 quarter player and 15 tackles is outrageously good. He's a brick

Looking forward to reading the gameday thread.

Wow. My voice is gone. Went from one of the worst days at the footy to the best! Our midfield was non existent in the first quarter and then dominated completely after half time!

Yep

Shout out to Paddy Cross, that small fella was bringing every single high ball to the ground over Dean and Weiters in that final qtr. Great last qtr by him. It’s the little things that contribute without seeming like big moments. They always count!

Mmmmm, @picket fence has gone real quiet

After the first quarter where we were rabbleish response was phenomenal. Up there with the really great wins

I had lost the faith at half time in the game day thread and was rightfully called out.

Putting my hand up to say I’ve never been happier to be proved wrong.

This truly is a new era!

Superb win. About bloody time we got these [censored] back and what a way to do it. For mine it’s ever so slightly behind the St Kilda victory for pure satisfaction, but gee whiz, Kingyball has already put two hall of fame worthy H&A victories in just three weeks of existence. I like it. I like it a lot.

Since the glory days of late 2021 when Gawn and Petracca went bananas in the finals, I can’t remember too many better individual games than Kozi’s today. Was just in a league of his own out there.

Sparrow, correct me if I’m wrong, but he played as a pure mid for most of the day? Can’t recall that happening too much if ever in the past, and he may have found his spot. We really need a big body in there to support Steele and Tom might be that guy! Fantastic game. Speaking of Steele, why did St Kilda let him go for peanuts then spend millions on a bunch of mediocres? And why doesn’t that get spoken about more? What an idiotic decision by them.

A bit worried about Perry’s form. No shame in being made to look second rate by Treacy, but Mitch McGovern, are you kidding me? That 50 he gave away was really dumb too, and at the time seemed really costly. Once Turner comes back, McDonald stays and Petty goes for mine.

Still a long way to go but this season has plenty left in the tank. Roll the Suns next week and the lid might be off! Up the [censored] Demons.

One of the most woeful first half we have played in years... far worse than last week.

But after half time we actually started to run and work as a team. While we really picked it up, How much of Carltons mental demons allowed us back in. Won't work on other teams.
whatever is wrong with our starts we need to fix it. Great tp see Langford look happier and getting into the game.
So happy we got the win for Max and TMac PS... Weere we better when CJ went off? I think so.

This is the best you've got for one of the best wins in five years? Wow . . . . . . just wow.
