the only confident tips i'd be prepared to make is flagmantle over the tigs and the pear over meth coke

every other one is - due to both form and injuries to key players - a bit of a toss-up

Rightio,

Adelaide because Geelong, finally, are stuffed. (touch wood, spit into the wind, throw salt into your spit etc)

GWS because Collingwood aren't that good.

Brisbane over St Kilda in a close one so Ross can have something to say and the media moisten their underwear.

Fremantle over Richmond, would seem obvious but it is Fremantle.

The body without a soul will lose to the soul without a body.

Port over West Coast, again, should seem obvious but...

Melbourne will pip Carlton in a ripper. McKay will kick half a dozen but half a dozen Demons will kick two each.

Gotta say, I’m happy as a pig in sch!tt with Essendon’s start to the season. Two 10-goal thumpings and there’s still many more to come. I revel in their misery. It never gets old. It never will. Go North this weekend!

Pies and Dubs is the one troubling me the most. If it was at the G I'd probably pick Collingwood but I'm feeling a coin flip at Marvel.

Dont revel too much or they'll beat us in gather round

You say that like I have a choice 😅

I found this interesting chart on teams playing Geelong at Geelong. Looks quite damning and the big drawing Melbourne based clubs have a hard time finding their way to sleepy hollow. The corruption of the draw is sickening.

Very early start (12:35) for the Saints v Lions game at Docklands. Even earlier if you're in Qld.

Might be a good match

This is the MFCSS talking here but Brad Scott will be fired after the Dogs thrash Essendon by 100 in round 4.

The week after they'll play us in Gather Round with a caretaker coach and they'll play out of their skins as per the standard Essendon V Melbourne Gather round appointment.

I will watch tonight with a leaning towards the Crows, but it is a bit of a meh weekend for games.

North to beat the Bummers, and then they sack Brad Scott, go and get James Hird, and the whole thing implodes down on Hird, Solomon, Sheedy and all those other entitled pie-in-the-sky armpits.( I will forgo the Monkey Shoulder and break out the Bunnahabhain 12yo if this happens).

mm, that's some solid mfcss showing

Looking forward to be able to sit down & watch the game & not being at work.

I've made tracs Greek chicken bowl for dinner. He may have ditched us but he does have some good recipes. Don't worry I didn't buy his book, it was in the age awhile back

Crows have not won a game in ****tsville since 2003 (14 loses in a row). They hate the place as much as we do.

Cats can’t afford blue shorts anymore???

Nibs is captain tonight in Dawson’s absence 🤗

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
